Head of Austria's Green Party refuses to associate terrorism with Islam

Hey, this is great! Alexander Van der Bellen won't associate Islam with terrorism! Now if we can just get all the Islamic jihadists around the world to agree not to do so either, we'll really be making progress!
More on
this controversy: "Head of the Green Party refuses to associate terrorism with Islam," by Abdelwahab El-Gueyed for KUNA (thanks to Twostellas):
VIENNA, Oct 31 (KUNA) -- Head of the Green Party and National Spokesman Alexander Van der Bellen said he is against the attempts of some bodies to associate Islam with terrorism.
Der Bellen told KUNA that it is in everybody's favor that 400,000 Moslems living in Austria do not turn into hostages as a result of the acts of a few extremist Moslems in the country.
He said the Austrian Green Party, the third largest party in Austria, has expressed its support for the Islamic community in many gatherings.
The eminent politician praised the initiative of the Austrian President Heinz Fischer to organize a reception for the representatives of the Islamic community in Austria and considered it an example to promote Inter-religious and cultural coexistence.

Germany battles jihad...with a comic book

Emblematic of the general unserious response in the West to the ideological challenge from the jihadists. You'll notice that the problem all comes from the young man being unable to find a job -- in other words, jihadism is all the West's fault, and the West can put an end to it with the proper welfare and jobs programs.
"Germany Battles Terror in the Classrooms," by Yassin Musharbash in
SpiegelOnline (thanks to all who sent this in):
The Interior Ministry of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia is taking a new tack in the fight against homegrown terrorism. It's using a comic book -- complete with colorful images and "youthful" language -- to battle nasty jihadism.
Creativity is often found in the most unlikely places. Take, for example, a couple of German state domestic intelligence offices charged with tasks such as tracking far-right extremism and terrorist cells. In Baden-Württemberg, they recently constructed a mock Pakistani terror camp for a touring exhibition about Islamism. And their colleagues in North Rhine-Westphalia are no slouches either: They've commissioned a comic book, in which kids talk about Islam, the ideology of Islamism and terrorism. Its hero is a young German named Andi.
[...]
Andi has all the accoutrements needed to mark him as your run-o-the-mill hipster kid -- baseball cap, hoodie and messy hair -- and he has a Turkish girlfriend, Ayshe. Her brother -- and Andi's buddy -- Murat, is going through a bit of a crisis because he can't find a position as an apprentice, and he blames his rejection letters on xenophobia. That makes Murat the perfect prey for the strange new kid on the playground, Harun, with his serious demeanor and steadfast belief in what he's been fed from Islamists. Harun, in turn, beats it into Murat's head that he will be discriminated against because of his religion.
My New Homie, the Jihadist
Huran takes Murat under his wing, and it's not long before he makes some progress by convincing him that he shouldn't have any infidel friends because Islam forbids it. Basketball is taboo, too. And he also needs to make sure that his sister doesn't go to the movies with Andi.
After a while, Harun even takes Murat to meet his favorite sheik, whose sermons are filled with hatred. His preaching goes along these lines: "God has ordered the Muslim to neither associate with nor befriend the infidel!" Huran also shows Murat radical Web sites showing videos of attacks on coalition forces in Iraq. "But a lot of Muslims get killed in those attacks, too," Murat ventures to comment. "They are all hypocrites and liars!" comes the response of the Jihadist sheik. And even if a Muslim were among the dead, he would have died a martyr. What more could a man want?
Of course, after 38 pages, there is the inevitable happy ending: Murat transforms himself from a potential public enemy number one back into a cheerful chap. And, joy upon joy, an apprenticeship position appears out of nowhere, just to hammer home the moral of the story.
Realism and Reality
It's hard to say whether school kids are going to laugh themselves silly while reading this stuff or if their slippery attention can be held. There will be 170,000 copies of Andi's first adventure and Hamburg is also planning to use them. The second issue in the Andi series is set to hit schools soon.
One thing is for sure: the officials have given it a good shot. The story is a bit too short and sweet but, at the same time, it's half-way believable because you can see that a lot of the details are a fairly faithful reflection of reality.
That said, the character of the headscarf-wearing Ayshe is a bit exaggerated and too good to believe: She's friendly, smart, versed in the Koran, pious ... and on top of that she's a rock-solid believer in the tenets of liberal democracy....
Ah, yes, of course, the great Unicorn, the Western Muslim we are all commanded to believe exists in large numbers, but whom virtually no one has ever actually seen.

Negotiating Process Must be Conducted Within the Resolution 1244

According to Tanjug, Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, who is also Serbian State Negotiating Team Co-Chairman, has announced he will participate in the talks in the ongoing negotiating process on the future organization of Kosovo and Metohija scheduled for November 5 in Vienna.
“This will be an important meeting, because Serbia will insist on a clear definition of the negotiating process which must be conducted within the framework of the Resolution 1244. This means that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia must be respected and essential autonomy for the Albanian national minority in the Province guaranteed,” Kostunica told Tanjug.

Despite Western Assurances of Albanian “Secularism”...

Serbia’s neighbor Albania, which joined the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in 1992, a few months after the collapse of its hard-line communist regime, is actively lobbying the Islamic bloc of states to recognize southern Serbian province of Kosovo as an independent state, according to BIRN.
Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha has called on Egypt to persuade the Organization of the Islamic Conference member-states to recognize as a bloc a unilateral declaration of independence by Kosovo Albanian separatists.
While presenting Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit with Albanian separatist view of the situation in the Serbian province, Berisha asked his host to use Egypt’s considerable influence with the other Arab states.

Destruction of the World Order Leads to Destruction of the World

Kosovo and the Westphalian Order, by Ambassador James Bissett, Chronicles Magazine
The breakup of the Yugoslav federation was the first serious diplomatic challenge facing the Western democracies following the collapse of the Soviet Union. They made a mess of it. They are still making a mess of it; and if a decision is made in the coming months to grant independence to the Albanians in Kosovo—as the United States seems determined to do—then the decision will simply add to, and compound, the many errors and mistakes made by the US-led Western powers before, during, and after the disintegration of the former Yugoslavia.
From the beginning of the break up of Yugoslavia the policies followed by the United States and NATO countries have been marked by duplicity, double standards and cowardice. They have forgotten the role played by Serbia in two world wars and they have deliberately demonized Serbia and the Serbian people. They have falsely blamed Serbia for the breakup of Yugoslavia and for all of the atrocities committed in the wars that followed. They have set up that “travesty of justice”—The Hague Tribunal—to perpetuate these myths.
More seriously, western intervention in the former Yugoslavia has shaken the global framework of international peace and security that has governed the relationship among sovereign states since the founding of the United Nations.

Serbs Offered Numerous Constructive Proposals, Kosovo Albanian Separatists — Not a Single One

During his talks with the German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Serbian Vice Premier Bozidar Djelic called on Germany and the international community to exert pressure on Kosovo Albanian separatists in the same way they have been pressuring Belgrade authorities during the negotiations.
“I have pointed to the constructiveness of our approach and the numerous original proposals that we have put forward, while the same thing cannot be said for the Kosovo Albanians, who have failed to introduce a single new element during the current talks. I have called the international community, the mediating Troika and Germany to exert pressure on Pristina the same way they are pressuring Belgrade, so that they too finally come up with some concrete proposals,” the deputy prime minister said following a meeting with Steinmeier.
Djelic stressed that the talks had reached a stalemate because of a lack of cooperation on behalf of the Kosovo Albanian separatists, and underlined that Belgrade had a red line that could not be crossed.

Serbian President Calls on Lajcak to Reevaluate his Measures

“The voice of Republic of Srpska (RS) must be respected because the Dayton Accord stipulates that changes to any principles have to be supported by the consensus of all three of the constituent peoples. As a signatory of the peace agreement, Serbia is dedicated to that principle,” Serbia’s President Boris Tadic told Tanjug today.
“We respect the territorial integrity of every state, Bosnia-Herzegovina unambiguously so. Bosnia’s constitutionality is based on the principles of the Dayton Accords, and no decisions can be made at the expense of one of the constituent nations,” said Tadic.

Lajcak’s Decision Unacceptable to Republika Srpska

Premier of the Serbian republic in Bosnia-Herzegovina (Republika Srpska) Milorad Dodik said that Serbian Republic’s leaders will not accept the latest decision imposed by the Bosnia High Representative Miroslav Lajcak, at the price of sanctioning the Serbian entity in Bosnia.
“Simply put, this is not a residence of a bunch of obedience-trainees and blind followers of the international community, even if United States is that International Community,” Dodik said in the RS TV interview. He was responding to the statement by the American ambassador to Bosnia-Herzegovina Charles English in which he called Republika Srpska leaders to accept Lajcak’s measures, or suffer the wrath of U.S.
Prime Minister Dodik said that RS leaders “cannot accept the violation of the Dayton Agreement and the Constitution” and therefore will not give up their position.
Revealing to the public that he has been holding intense talks with Ambassador English for the past few days, Dodik said he can “hardly believe ambassador would show such contempt for their discussions in this manner,” i.e. issuing a public demand for compliance followed by the threats in case Bosnian Serbs fail to obey Lajcak’s dictate.

Preservation of Kosovo and Republika Srpska Top Priorities for Serbia

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said on Thursday that Serbia will decisively defend Resolution 1244 and the Dayton Peace Accords, since the preservation of Kosovo and Republika Srpska [Serbian republic in Bosnia-Herzegovina] were “the top-priority goals of our country and our national policy.”
“The measures of (High Representative for Bosnia-Herzegovina Miroslav) Lajcak and the Ahtisaari plan have the aim of annulling Resolution 1244 and the Dayton Agreement, so that an independence of Kosovo could be proclaimed and Republika Srpska be abolished. This is an open violation of the basic interests of the Serbian nation,” the prime minister said in a statement for the media.
Kostunica stressed that “Serbia, as a signatory of the Dayton Agreement, will give all possible support to (RS Prime Minister Milorad) Dodik and the institutions of Republika Srpska in preserving the status granted to the Serbian republic by the Dayton Accords. The preservation of Kosovo and Republika Srpska are now the top-priority goals of our country and our national policy.”
“I have informed Prime Minister Dodik that he can count on Serbia’s full support, and that together we will decisively defend both Resolution 1244 and the Dayton Peace Accords,” Kostunica said.

Moscow Ready to Recognize Russian-Majority Regions in the Neighborhood as Independent States

Reuters reports about an unnamed Russian diplomat who “hinted” on Wednesday that Moscow would recognize the Russian-majority regions in the territory of former Soviet Union as independent states, in case West allows unilateral proclamation of independence by the Albanian separatists in southern Serbian province of Kosovo.
Many other Russian representatives, including Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and President Putin himself, have openly said that there would be nothing to prevent Russian Federation from recognizing independence of Russian-majority regions in the former Soviet Union in case West decides to impose dismemberment of Serbia, directly violating the UN Charter and UN Security Council Resolution 1244. But Reuters reporters might’ve missed those earlier “hints.”
At the same time, RTS carried the latest statements of two named high officials of Russian Federation.

Jihad and Kosovo: What Are They Thinking in Washington?

Short answer: not much. At an April 17, 2007, hearing on Kosovo, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Tom Lantos (D-CA) called upon “jihadists of all color and hue” to see Kosovo as “yet another example [sic: presumably a reference to Bosnia] that the United States leads the way for the creation of a predominantly Muslim country in the very heart of Europe.” President Bush's utterances on Kosovo have been indistinguishable.
But an anti-dhimmitude counteroffensive is on the way. This week (October 23) a high-powered conference in Washington will vivisect the pro-jihad U.S. policy and call for a reversal. “KOSOVO: A PREVENTABLE DISASTER: CAN AMERICA STEP BACK FROM THE BRINK?" will feature the noted diagnosticians Srdja Trifkovic (“Sword of the Prophet,” “Defeating Jihad”), Professor John Schindler of the U.S. Naval War College (“Unholy Terror: Bosnia, Al-Qa’ida, and the Rise of Global Jihad”), and Bill Warner, Director of the Center for the Study of Political Islam.
There is no cost for attendees – well worth participating if you can be in DC next week. See more details at http://www.savekosovo.org/documents/071023Conference.pdf

Democracy Albanian Way: Molotov Cocktail for Serbian Church

Tanjug reports an explosive device was thrown on Friday morning at the Church of St Nikola in Gnjilane, in southern Serbian province of Kosovo.
Albanian policeman told media that the device failed to explode and that, “besides the black traces on the church wall, there was no other damage.” So, it’s fine then. No big deal — move on, nothing to see here:
“On the ground was found one broken bottle with a fuse, as well as two empty beer bottles. No one was hurt and there is no greater material damage. An investigation is underway, but for the time being nobody has been taken into custody,” Hasani said.
Really?! How odd. After successfully tracking down and apprehending ZERO of Albanian perpetrators of violent ethnically-motivated crimes in Kosovo province during the past eight years, Albanian KLA police, the KFOR and the UN police failed to find and take into custody this one. Oh, well... can’t get them all...
Gnjilane Serbs said that not one, but three Molotov cocktails had been thrown on Friday in an attempt to set fire to the church and burn it to the ground, like the other 155 Serbian churches and monasteries in Kosovo province Albanians have successfully destroyed during the past 8 years.
Archpriest of the church in Gnilane Svetisav Trajkovic said that for Serbs in the municipality of Gnjilane this incident was very disturbing and that they took it as a message that they should move away.
“The attackers know very well that the church as an institution is the only one that has survived in the territory, and they also know that Serbian people are the most vulnerable on that issue,” he said.

The Coming Balkan Caliphate: The Threat of Radical Islam to Europe and the West

Book by Christopher Deliso, American veteran field reporter and one of the foremost experts on the Balkans, director of Balkanalysis.com. Praeger Security International General Interest, 240pp, ISBN 0275995259. Buy this book at Amazon
Book Description
With all eyes currently focused on the widening conflict in the Middle East and the terrorist threat coming from the region, the West is in danger of overlooking a potent new battleground in the greater "war on terror"--the Balkans. This historically volatile region saw some of the worst violence of the late 20th century in the Yugoslav Wars of Secession. During these conflicts, stunningly shortsighted and politically motivated policies of the United States and its allies directly allowed Islamic mujahedin and terrorist-related entities to establish a foothold in the region--just as with the progenitors of the Taliban a decade earlier in Afghanistan.
Although the 9/11 attacks caused a partial reassessment of Western policy, it may already be too late for a region still largely ignored. The proliferation of foreign fundamentalist groups has had a cancerous effect on traditional Balkan Islamic communities, challenging their legitimacy in unprecedented and often violent ways.
Well-funded groups like the Saudi-backed Wahabbis continue to exploit internal schisms within local communities, while the international administrations in Bosnia and Kosovo have actually strengthened the grip of local mafia groups--business partners of terrorists.
Worst of all, the Western peacekeepers' chronic "don't rock the boat" mentality has allowed extremist groups to operate unchallenged. Nevertheless, regional demographic and cultural trends, coinciding with an increasingly hostile attitude in the larger Muslim world over Western military actions and perceived symbolic provocations, indicate that the lawless Balkans will become increasingly valuable as a strategic base for Islamic radicals over the next two decades.
Utilizing the post-al-Qaeda tactics of a decentralized jihad carried out through small, independent cells ("leaderless resistance") while seeking to fundamentally and violently remold Muslim societies, such Balkan-based extremists pose a unique and tangible threat to Western security.

Nation’s Secessionists Convene

Nation’s Secessionists Convene
Washington Times article, via Julia Gorin
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — In an unlikely marriage of desire to secede from the United States, two advocacy groups from opposite political traditions — New England and the South — are sitting down to talk.
Tired of foreign wars and what they consider right-wing courts, the Middlebury Institute wants liberal states like Vermont to be able to secede peacefully.
That sounds just fine to the League of the South, a conservative group that refuses to give up on Southern independence.
"We believe that an independent South, or Hawaii, Alaska, or Vermont would be better able to serve the interest of everybody, regardless of race or ethnicity," said Michael Hill of Killen, Ala., president of the League of the South.
The Middlebury Institute and the League of the South are hosting a two-day Secessionist Convention that began yesterday in Chattanooga.
They expect to attract supporters from California, Alaska and Hawaii, inviting anyone who wants to dissolve the Union so states can save themselves from an overbearing federal government.
If allowed to go their own way, New Englanders "probably would allow abortion and have gun control," Mr. Hill said, while Southerners "would probably crack down on illegal immigration harder than it is being now."
The U.S. Constitution does not explicitly prohibit secession, but few think it is politically viable.

Cyprus Ready to Veto Recognition of Kosovo Independence in the EU

Cyprus Foreign Minister Erato Kozakou Markoullis has announced that her country would veto Kosovo independence recognition within the European Union.
Cyprus, an EU member-state, will vote against the recognition of independence, the Cyprus foreign minister underlined during her visit to Austria, adding that her country would not be the only one to issue a veto on such a move.
She cautioned in Vienna on Tuesday that it would be a dangerous precedent if southern Serbian province was allowed to proclaim unilateral independence from Serbia.

Kosovo will Never be Independent Despite Threats, Pressure

Kosovo-Metohija will never be an independent state, regardless of the type of pressure, conditions and threats to which Serbia is exposed, Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said on Sunday.
Addressing the Assembly of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), which he heads, Kostunica said that Kosovo could be an independent state only if Serbia recognized it or if the UN Security Council violated the UN Charter.
“The whole world knows fully well that neither Serbia would ever recognize Kosovo independence, nor the UN Security Council will violate the UN Charter,” Kostunica said. “That means Kosovo will never be a UN member state.”
“Both (Kosovo) Albanian separatists and states which sponsor the severing of our province are more than aware of this fact. They also know well that all the laws — political, ethical, constitutional and international — are on Serbia’s side,” Kostunica said.
Dismissing speculations that Serbia may be willing to trade 15 percent of its territory for a “fast-track approach to EU membership”, the premier said that Serbia would not trade part of its land for anything, regardless of any pressure, threats and conditioning.

Turkey Forms Alliance With Iran Against Kurds

Using its outrage over the House resolution on the Armenian genocide as a pretext to flout its alliance with the United States.
By Kenneth R. Timmerman at
NewsMax (thanks to Dav):
U.S. ally Turkey and U.S. arch-enemy Iran have formed a military alliance to drive opposition Kurds from bases in northern Iraq they have used since 2004 to launch guerrilla operations inside Iran, rebel leaders told Newsmax at a secret base in the Qandil mountains.
Both Iran and Turkey have vowed to send troops into northern Iraq, but until now evidence of active military cooperation between them has remained a closely-held secret.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stepped up political and diplomatic threats in recent days, telling the United States he would cut off U.S. access to the strategic Incirlik airbase in eastern Turkey if the U.S. tried to prevent Turkey from sending troops against the Kurdish bases in northern Iraq.

Srebrenica Manipulations: 954 Bosnian Muslim Fighters Killed Before the End of 1994 Listed as “Srebrenica Victims”

Association of Camp Prisoners from Republika Srpska (Serbian Republic in Bosnia) cites an example of Munira Subasic, President of the Bosnian Muslim Association of Srebrenica Women, who reported her son as one of Srebrenica Muslim victims. It was later discovered her son lives in United States under a new name.
By Boro Maric reporting from Banja Luka in Bosnia, Politika
Republika Srpska Veterans Association has reported on Wednesday they have the list of 954 Bosnian Muslim fighters, members of the Muslim army, who have lost their lives before the end of 1994 in the battles during the Bosnian civil war (1992-1995), but have nevertheless been listed as the Muslim victims of battle for Srebrenica, fought in July 1995.
The news about the list has triggered strong reactions in the Serbian republic in Bosnia.
On the one side, the information has thrown renewed suspicion at the report of Bosnia’s Commission that was supposed to determine the facts about Srebrenica events. The Srebrenica Commission was formed according to the order of former Bosnian High Representative from Great Britain, Paddy Ashdown, by the Government of Republika Srpska. On the other side, the list provided by the Serbian Veterans Association has reopened the issue of exaggerated numbers of Bosnian Muslims who have allegedly lost their lives in Srebrenica. The continuously overblown figurers are constantly parroted both within the Bosnian Muslim circles of high officials and Muslim NGOs operating in Bosnia, and by the Hague Tribunal.

Ischinger: Serbia Chose Kosovo Over EU

If forced to choose between its Kosovo province and the EU, Serbia will reject the EU membership and decide in favor of Kosovo, Wolfgang Ischinger, the EU representative in the mediating Troika, assessed on Thursday, in an interview for Germany’s leading business magazine Handelsblatt from Dusseldorf.
Instead of forcing Serbia to make a choice which, both on behalf of the current Serbian leadership and Serbian people has already been made for Kosovo, Ischinger said the EU must offer visa facilitation to Serbia “as a sign of the country’s getting closer to the Union, which would represent a positive signal for the negotiations on Kosovo’s future.”
He also criticized the US announcements on the possible recognition of a unilaterally proclaimed independence of the southern Serbian province.
All the statements which give the impression that the solution has already been determined are counterproductive, the German diplomat said ahead of the beginning of the second round of eye-to-eye talks between Belgrade and Pristina, which are supposed to be held in Brussels on October 14.

Vatican Turns Blind Eye While Aiding And Abetting in 1940’s Croatian Genocide

By Greg Szymanski, JD
“These innocent Serbs have been impaled, fire has been lit on their bare chests, they have been roasted alive, burned in their homes and churches while still living, covered with boiling water and then their skin peeled off...”
In a federal court case filed in San Francisco, the Vatican has admitted to taking part and helping to organize The 1940’s genocide in Croatia, killing more than 800,000 innocents including woman and children.
In Alperin v. Vatican Bank, the pope’s attorney admitted to the Vatican’s involvement in the genocide but said it was justified under international law.
This motion was made in Nov. 2006 but the judge in the case still has not made his ruling.
Besides admitting to its involvement in the Croatian massacre, the Vatican has never condemned the actions of the political leaders involved in the genocide. Further, testimony has shown that Dominican priests, including high-level bishops, were directly involved in the physical torture and killing.
Although the Croatian genocide has never been fully reported to the American people, the extent of the violence in which the Vatican has admitted complicity is graphically shown through a letter written by Croatian politician, Prvolsav Grizogono, on February 8, 1942 to Archbishop Dr. Alojzije Stepinac. As it turned out, Stepinac actually aided the perpetrators of the genocide.

Germany's Iranian secret

By Benjamin Weinthal
Germany's role in the crisis caused by Iran's nuclear program typifies a kind of split national personality. On the one hand, already in early 2006 Chancellor Angela Merkel, of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), drew a diplomatic line in the sand when she declared, "A president who questions Israel's right to exist, a president who denies the Holocaust, cannot expect to receive any tolerance from Germany." The fact that Ahmadinejad openly entertains the notion of exterminating Israel prompted Merkel to add, "We must take the Iranian president's rhetoric seriously." But Merkel's tough political rhetoric stands in sharp contrast to the pricey business deals German firms have closed with the Tehran regime, to the tune of $5.7 billion in 2006. That makes Germany Iran's most important trading partner in the European Union.

Turks irked over genocide bill, recall US ambassador for talks

The Turks are irked. Wipe off that smirk. They think we're jerks, for this genocide work. They will sulk and they may cry, and we will know the reason why: we've told the truth about their past, and so their deceptiveness can't last.
"Turkey recalls US ambassador for talks," by C. Onur Ant for
Associated Press (thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist):
ANKARA, Turkey - Turkey ordered its ambassador in Washington to return to Turkey for consultations over a U.S. House panel's approval of a bill describing the World War I-era mass killings of Armenians as genocide, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said Thursday.
The ambassador would stay in Turkey for about a week or 10 days for discussions about the measure, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Levent Bilman.
"We are not withdrawing our ambassador. We have asked him to come to Turkey for some consultations," he said. "The ambassador was given instructions to return and will come at his earliest convenience."...

Germany suspends Iranian-born player

Now you're talking. An update on this story from the Jerusalem Post (thanks to Davida):
Ashkan Dejagah (Photo), the Iranian-born German soccer player who sparked an international controversy for his refusal to play in Israel, has been permanently suspended from the German Under-21 team, Theo Zwanziger, the president of the German Football Association (DFB) announced on Thursday.
In his meeting with Israel Football Association chairman Avi Luzon, Zwanziger seemingly backtracked from a statement he made earlier in the week in which he supported the Dejagah's right to refuse to play, saying instead that the DBA "will not let this slide; he will be taken care of and suspended."
The decision comes one day after a spokesperson for the German government condemned Delagah's position.
"The interior minister is of the opinion that all members of German soccer teams must agree to play in any nation that Germany has a sports connection with," the spokesperson said. "It is forbidden that political circumstances would influence this."
Good.

American Administration Persists in Sinking Negotiations

Serbian State Minister for Kosovo and Metohija province, Slobodan Samardzic, on Wednesday warned that U.S. officials persistently obstruct the New York agreement on restraining from prejudicing a solution for the future status of southern Serbian province of Kosovo.
“Even though we have all agreed in New York and adopted the declaration on restraining from prejudicing the outcome of the negotiations with such statements, U.S. officials persistently obstruct the agreement and continue to make statements on a prejudiced solution,” Samardzic told Tanjug.
As the latest examples, he cited the statements by Rosemary DiCarlo, Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, and U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Zalmay Khalilzad saying that Serbian province “will be independent.”
Samardzic stressed that this has encouraged the Albanian separatist representatives in London to disregard the contents of their talks at the Foreign Office, and state that they would proclaim independence of the province immediately after December 10, when the mediators are due to submit their progress report on the negotiations to the United Nations.
“In such climate, one has to wonder about the purpose of the joint declaration, and to question the purpose of press releases and statements, the purpose of the Troika’s efforts and, in particular, of the efforts of Mr. Ischinger, who is really investing great deal of energy in attempts to maintain a normal atmosphere of the talks,” said Samardzic.
He also questioned the purpose of the negotiations, when highest officials of the country that has its own representative within the mediating Troika, United States, are constantly destroying the work of everyone involved with such statements.
Samardzic believes that this in fact is an “entirely destructive and obstructive activity, which ensures that a likelihood of getting to a process that could possibly produce a mutually-acceptable solution, remains out of reach.”
Despite the obstructions, Serbian delegation, according to Minister Samardzic, is going to Brussels on October 14 fully prepared to take an active part in the negotiations, but it will keep warning that all the efforts and the work invested is being rendered meaningless through the constant “projections” of the American administration about Serbian province’s “inevitable independence.”

Tadic: UN Security Council Remains Essential to Serbia and its Kosovo Province

According to Tanjug, Serbian President Boris Tadic said on Monday that any international conference on Kosovo and Metohija province is acceptable only if it takes place under the auspices of the United Nations Security Council.
“The entire process began in the Security Council and it must end in the UN Security Council,” Tadic said, commenting a statement by the European Union representative in the mediating troika of the Contact Group, Wolfgang Ischinger, about the possibility of holding a Dayton-style European conference on Serbian Kosovo province.
During a tour of the Ground Safety Zone in southern Serbia, Tadic said the negotiating process can be considered legally valid and in keeping with international law only if it is taking place under the umbrella of the UN Security Council.
Commenting a recent statement by one of the Kosovo Albanian separatist leaders, Fatmir Sejdiu, who said that ethnic Albanians must be calm “until December 10”, Tadic warned this was a direct threat.
Calling upon the international officials to condemn such statements, President Tadic said:
“Everyone must be calm both before and after December 10. That is how Serbia and its negotiating team are behaving, and that is how the other side must behave as well.”

Iran-TV: Iran footballer bypasses Israeli match

Iranian- German Ashkan Dejagah (Photo) an Iranian-German footballer has decided to sidestep Germany's upcoming Under-21 football match against Israel due to political issues. Germany's Under-21 coach Dieter Eilts has reportedly decided to rule out Ashkan Dejagah in Friday's match against Israel, because of 'existing predicaments'. "The coach is familiar with my Iranian origin and understands my political reasons for withdrawing from Friday's game" said the VFL Wolfsburg midfielder after the coach announced his decision to exclude him from the roster. Dejagah normally lines up for Germany's Under-21 national football team. According to former German national team assistant coach Michael Skibbe, Dejagah has "excellent prospects" to join the A-team in the near future.

Susan Southworth: Americans Don’t Know the Truth

“The Last Kosovo Serb Won’t Leave” by Susan Southworth. BookSurge Publishing, 144pp, ISBN 1419662635. Buy this book at Amazon
“As an American, I don’t think I should suggest any solutions for Kosovo province. This is your internal issue, and that is how it must be treated,” said Susan Southworth, author of the novel “The Last Kosovo Serb Won’t Leave” in an interview published in Sunday edition of Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti.
She is aware her approach is diametrically opposed to numerous American commentators who, according to Southworth, can’t be scraped off the TV screens where they keep explaining to the public their version of the conflict-development over southern Serbian province.
“These self-styled ‘Balkan experts’ don’t know the difference between Bosnia and Kosovo. They come up with conclusions like: they’ve been fighting over there for centuries and the only solution is to grant independence to Kosovo. Recently, you could hear on the national radio that Kosovo is ‘former Serbian province.’ The American professors and scholars who actually do understand the gist of the problem are never invited to TV studios,” Susan Southworth explained.

Wisner: Solution for Kosovo Province Unlikely This Year

U.S. envoy in the mediation Troika at the Kosovo negotiations Frank Wisner said on Thursday it was unlikely that the status of the Serbian province would be resolved this year.
Quite simply, there is no time for that, Wisner told the Voice of America program in the Albanian language, explaining that the timetable of events linked to Kosovo was overcharged for a definite solution to be reached this year.
The U.S. envoy explained that the three representatives would submit to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon a report on the negotiations of Belgrade and Pristina by December 10.
After the report of the Troika, Wisner expects that the UN secretary general will discuss Kosovo with Contact Group member states, and did not exclude later discussions in the UN Security Council.

Tadic: Terrorism in Kosovo Promoted by Albanian-Run Media

According to Tanjug, Serbian President Boris Tadic on Thursday warned Kfor, UNMIK and the international community about the threat of promoting illegal terrorist organizations by the Albanian-language media in Kosovo and Metohija.
Tadic said that “this is a new threat of violence and intimidation of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, and an attempt to influence the negotiating process on the future status of Kosovo.”
“I believe that the ethnic Albanian citizens of Kosovo too do not want a repeat of March 17,” Tadic said in a statement.

The Economist Intelligence Unit: Pro-Independence Wind Lost Strength

Excerpts of the analysis from the Economist Intelligence Unit ViewsWire, The Economist
Most observers have for some time assumed that Kosovo is moving inexorably and inevitably towards independence. At first, most believed that this would be sanctioned by the UN and that opposition from Russia and others would be overcome. When that proved impossible—as the Economist Intelligence Unit consistently argued it would—the focus shifted to the idea of a unilateral declaration of independence (UDI) by Kosovo, followed by recognition outside of the framework of the UN. However, recent developments suggest that even this may not happen soon, as the process of resolving Kosovo’s status proves far more complicated than had originally been envisaged.
[...] The [new round of] talks began in late September and are scheduled to last until December 10th. It had appeared at first that the aim of the talks was simply to buy time for the international powers to try to find a way out of the current impasse, but international mediators have insisted that the talks be given a chance and are now talking up the chances of a compromise.

Western Miracle Workers

In the latest news, a Bosnian Muslim who tried to enter the U.S. Embassy in Vienna with a backpack filled with explosives and nails was arrested Monday. You can learn the terrorist is “Bosnian” (this time around, no mentioning of conveniently invented “nation” of “Bosniaks,” supposed to signify Muslims in former Yugoslav republic) and that part of his deadly backpack-content was “Islamic literature,” so feel free to draw your own conclusions. But Western mainstream surely won’t put two and two together for you and simply say that the guy who tried to blow up American embassy in Vienna is a Bosnian Muslim, one of those Americans were saving from Serbs during the Bosnian civil war.
Another Bosnian Muslim terrorist with ties to Al Qaida, was smuggled through the Western MSM as a “Yugoslav.” Apparently, Western news editors turn into miracle-workers at will and resurrect Yugoslavia whenever there is a need to cover up for their Bosnian and Albanian Muslim allies (i.e. “Bosniaks” and “Kosovars”).
The UN Police in southern Serbian province of Kosovo is now investigating the involvement of the UN-created and funded Kosovo Albanian police force (KPS) in a bomb blast last week that killed two people and injured twelve. Basically, when you hire terrorists to masquerade as policemen, like Albanian terrorist KLA in Kosovo province was magically turned into a KPS, you shouldn’t expect any better. But Western powers are too eager to claim omnipotence for themselves, so they keep screwing things up and then scurry around in attemtps to control the damage.
