Biggest Internet Fraud: Wikipedia

Couple of weeks ago independent UK journalist and columnist Neil Clark brought up an important issue most internet users who consider Wikipedia a reliable source of information on a whole range of issues, including history and politics, are entirely unaware of — that Wikipedia is infiltrated by the Western secret services which use it to manipulate truth and prevent the inconvenient facts reaching the wider public, by planting their governments’ official versions of events through Wiki articles.
It was Dr. Ludwig De Braeckeleer who first reported about this sobering discovery. He stumbled upon it while researching the material for article regarding a terrorist attack from 1988, only to find that popular online encyclopedia has removed the crucial bits of information from the previous piece, at the same time blocking further edits and removing previous versions of the same article (usually available for comparison).

Trick or Trick: Javier Solana

Solana Above the Law
Commenting Javier Solana’s recent claim that sending EU mission to the Serbian province of Kosovo and Metohija against Serbia’s will and without the UN Security Council approval would not represent the violation of international law, Kosovo-Metohija Minister Slobodan Samardzic said that such statement “can only mean that, for Solana, the international law does not exist.”
“The announcement that the Council of EU ministers could formally decide on January 28 to send EU mission would not only be a most severe violation of the international law and Resolution 1244, but it would also annul the initialed Stabilization and Association Agreement,” Samardzic told Tanjug.
He stressed that the agreement initialed between Serbia and EU explicitly obligates both sides to respect the UN Charter, Resolution 1244 and Helsinki Final Act.
“Each of these basic documents absolutely guarantees Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in its current internationally recognized borders,” said Samardzic.
“The international law must be respected and that is why the EU cannot decide on January 28 to unlawfully send a mission to Kosovo and Metohija,” Samardzic said.
While Minister Samardzic deserves utmost regard as a rarely decent, honorable man, an esteemed educator and university professor, the issue is not whether Solana thinks the international law exists, but when did he ever act as if the international law does exist, or as if it applies to the self-styled Illuminated Elite he belongs to?
Belgrade had a good opportunity to teach the gnome that law indeed applies to him too, but it missed that chance, so it’s no use complaining now. Unless they plan to arrest him on his next “return to the scene of crime.”

Aleksandar Popovic: EU Could Become Serbia’s Enemy

“The way Serbia relates towards the EU will depend on the way the EU treats Serbia. Serbia is neither ill-tempered nor hostile so that now, for no reason whatsoever, it does not want to have the ideal relations with all countries. But it takes two for both love and friendship. In case there are countries willing to recognize possible unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo and Metohija, if there are states prepared to brutally violate all the principles the civilized world rests upon since 1945, then they have to be ready for Serbia to treat that as an enemy-gesture.
“The same goes for the EU if it intends to send its mission to the part of our territory bypassing the Security Council and against our will, in order to implement the rejected and failed Ahtisaari’s idea on Serbia’s dismemberment — how can anyone expect Serbia to smile and act as if nothing happened?!”, said DSS deputy president and Minister Aleksandar Popovic in an interview for Belgrade daily Glas javnosti.

Serbia’s Prime Minister: Battle for Kosovo is Battle for Serbia’s Freedom

Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica’s address to the Parliament Assembly on December 26, on the occasion of proposing Kosovo-Metohija Resolution and State Negotiating Team Report to the MPs for adoption.
Honorable Parliament Members,
You have before you today the report of the state negotiating team so that you could get fully acquainted with all relevant facts on the negotiations thus far. Before you is also the proposal of the Resolution outlining directions for future work and committing state institutions to protect sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.
In my view, the latest UN Security Council session in which the report of the mediating troika was reviewed deserves special attention. It is my duty to inform you that in this session held on December 19, the will of the US and a few European countries blocked Russian initiative to continue the negotiating process, thereby blocking the work of Security Council on finding a compromise solution for the future status of the Serbian province of Kosovo and Metohija.
At the same time, Western countries led by the US have stated that, following the presidential elections in Serbia, they would recognize unilateral independence of the province, based on rejected Ahtisaari plan.

Serbian Parliament Votes Overwhelmingly in Favor of the Kosovo-Metohija Resolution

By an overwhelming majority, members of the Serbian parliament adopted Kosovo-Metohija Resolution for Defense of Sovereignty, Territorial Integrity and the Constitutional State Order. Serbian parliament has also adopted report by the State Negotiating Team on the negotiations mediated by the Contact Group troika for the future status of southern Serbian province.
The government-drafted Resolution was adopted by 220 votes for and 14 against, while 3 MPs abstained. Kosovo-Metohija Resolution received unanimous support by the ruling coalition (consisting of DSS, DS and G17 Plus parties), as well as backing of the strongest political party currently in opposition — Serbian Radical Party, and of the most other opposition parties, including the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), Roma Party and the Roma Union of Serbia. Fourteen votes against came from the Albanian, Liberal party and the League of Social-Democrats MPs, while the parliament representatives of the party of ethnic Hungarian minority abstained from voting.

West Eager to Enforce the Law of the Jungle

United States and several European countries are determined to grant independence to Serbian Kosovo-Metohija province at any cost, even if it means a violation of international law, and this is where no similarities can be found with the Russian position, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday.
“Our Western partners, above all the United States and a couple of European countries, are resolute in giving Kosovo independence, cost what it may, even if it means a violation of international law,” Lavrov said in an interview for the Moscow daily Vremya Novostei.
“This is where it is impossible for us to have similar positions with them,” he stressed.
“There can be no unilateral solutions either for Kosovo, for Iran, Lebanon or for the Near East issue as a whole,” the Russian foreign minister said, adding that “it was not in vain that that the UN Charter included the principle of unanimity of the permanent members.

War and Peace in an “Independent” Kosovo

By Bojan Ratkovic
During his “historic” visit to Albania, in June of 2007, U.S. President George W. Bush anxiously proclaimed: “We believe Kosovo ought to be independent ... I'm worried about expectations not being met in Kosovo and therefore we'll push the process." These strong words were met with loud cheers and applause from his Albanian hosts, the kind of reaction Mr. Bush has not received at home since his “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED” proclamation. Although Mr. Bush seems to see no wrong in pushing for independence for the ancestral lands of a sovereign nation, are people in the West truly aware of what it would mean for Kosovo to become independent? What the real implications and consequences are? Let us explore this question.

A Crisis of West's Own Making

By Neil Clark, The Australian
POWERFUL Western nations make threats to Serbia. Serbia, backed by Russia, ignores the ultimatums. A war ensues. That was the scenario in the summer of 1914, when the world plunged into the war to end all wars. Nearly a century on, the situation is uncannily similar.
Despite Western threats for it to accept Kosovan independence, Belgrade is standing firm. Serbian armed forces are on standby to reclaim the province by force if necessary. Russia has promised Serbia its support.
If war does follow, then Serbia will no doubt be blamed by Western governments for not toeing the line. But it would be an unfair judgment.
The present crisis in Kosovo has been caused not so much by Serbian intransigence, but by the West's policy of intervention in the internal affairs of sovereign states, which, over the past decade has caused chaos, not only in the Balkans, but across the globe.
Ten years ago, Kosovo was at relative peace. Albanian demands for independence from Belgrade were being channeled through the peaceful Democratic League party of Ibrahim Rugova, while the small groups of Albanian paramilitaries that did exist were isolated and had little public support.

Turkey: Christians celebrate low-key Christmas after recent attack

The remaining Christians in Turkey celebrate Christmas while suffering from increasing persecution. From AKI (thanks to Sr. Soph):
Istanbul, 24 Dec. (AKI) - Turkey's 100,000-strong Christian community was on Monday hoping that Christmas this year would pass uneventfully without further sectarian attacks such as that earlier this month against an Italian Catholic priest - the latest of several in little over a year.
As schools and offices in the overwhelmingly Muslim majority country will be open on Tuesday, 25 December will simply be a day that comes between Eid al-Adha (the Islamic festival of sacrifice) and the New Year celebrations.
Christmas trees decked in glass baubles and Christmas lights have been put up in some streets and shop windows. "These are signs of a blending of Christian and Muslim cultures that have nothing to do with the substance of Christmas," Monsignor Luigi Padovese, apostolic vicar in Turkey, told Adnkronos International (AKI)
The knife attack by a Muslim youth last Sunday against an Italian Catholic priest, Adriano Franchini, in the Turkish port city of Izmir, has undoubtedly marred the festivities for Christians and left many in a sombre mood.
Undoubtedly.

When Will Solana Learn to Shut Up?

Serbian Prime Minister adviser, Srdjan Djuric, criticized ludicrous statement by the EU High Representative Javier Solana that sending the EU mission to southern Serbian province of Kosovo-Metohija, against Serbia’s will and contrary to the UN SC Resolution 1244, does not represent violation of international law.
“Javier Solana’s claim that the EU mission which would impose rejected Ahtisaari plan is legal and would not represent a violation of the international law is as truthful and correct as Solana’s decision for NATO to attack Serbia without the approval of the UN Security Council was legal,” Djuric told Beta news agency.
He added that Solana has been “an active participant in all stages of Kosovo-Metohija crisis, from the beginning of NATO aggression, all the way down to attempts to impose illegal Ahtisaari plan unilaterally, even though it was rejected by the UN Security Council.”
“It might be the right time for Solana to restrain himself at least once and refrain from taking part in unlawful decisions aimed against Serbia,” Djuric said.

No Agreements with the EU, Unless Brussels Changes its Kosovo Province Policy

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica’s Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) and its coalition partner, New Serbia (NS), want country’s accession to the European Union blocked unless Brussels changes its Kosovo province policy, according to the official DSS-NS statement released Saturday.
Premier’s DSS-NS coalition said Belgrade must not sign the Stabilization and Association Agreement with the EU, if the 27-member bloc continued pursuing severing of southern Serbian province of Kosovo-Metohija from the rest of Serbia.
Expressing concern over president Tadic’s DS party call for presidential elections on their own, without the prior agreement with DSS-NS and other coalition partners, while the EU officials are openly saying they will call for the recognition of the Serbian province’s independence right after the elections run-off (February 3), DSS-NS coalition has issued a public invitation to Tadic’s party to formulate common policy, in order to be able to support Tadic’s nomination once again.

Resolution 1244 Crystal Clear, but Western Powers are Eager to Violate it

UN Security Council Resolution 1244 clearly defines that negotiations on the future status of Kosovo and Metohija be conducted within essential autonomy for the Serbian province, said on Thursday Serbian international law professor Milan Paunovic.
The resolution is clear, but in this situation the United States and several other powers on the decline in Europe do not want to accept it but to violate it, Paunovic said, commenting on the Wednesday session of the Security Council of Kosovo and Metohija.
“What the United States has imagined is not going to go down easy,” Paunovic assessed in a statement to Tanjug, and cautioned that a crisis was once again looming over the international law, thanks to the “arrogant and unreasonable behavior” of the largest world power and several other states in Western Europe.
Through a behavior pernicious for modern international law, the United States is seeking to destroy the international order, created after WWII by the UN Charter, “because it no longer serves its interests,” assessed Paunovic, who is a professor at Belgrade University Faculty of Law.
According to him, the United States is infringing upon the basic principles of the UN Charter, including the principle of territorial integrity of member states, in what it is followed by “the so-called powers in Europe,” who think they might “gain something in the new world order created under their domination.”

EU, NATO Risk Serious Harm to Relations with Russia over Kosovo Province

Unilateral Actions Critical for Relations with Russia
Unilateral actions of the European Union and NATO on a solution to the Kosovo and Metohija status problem will result in critical problems in the relations with Russia, high-ranking official of the United Russia Konstantin Kosachev stated on Friday.
For the first time in history of the United Nations, the two organizations announce their intent to bypass the United Nations in order to impose a solution and affect the fate of a country that is not a member of those organizations, underscored Kosachev, who is also the former chairman of the international affairs committee of the Russian Duma.
Kosachev warned that this would set a “dangerous precedent not only from the point of view of ‘frozen conflicts’, but also from the point of view of international law and collective security, which the UN is a symbol of.”
“Such unilateral actions will result in critical problems in Russia’s relations with those organizations,” Itar-Tass news agency quoted Kosachev as saying.

Kosovo’s negative impact on UN

M. Bozinovich
Former Serbian foreign minister Goran Svilanovic gets it exactly right with respect to Serbia when it comes to the impact of the recent UN Security Council meeting on Kosovo:
“Never before has a prime minister or president of Kosovo been invited to enter the Security Council room. Never has anyone been called who does not represent a sovereign country, a UN member state or a UN mission – that has never happened. It might not be pleasant for Serbia, but its position has been eroded,” Svilanovic said.
A more grave implication is for the UN itself, a forum for sovereign states not separatists like Kosovo Albanians whose demands violate the very charter, or reason for UNs existence.
This is like allowing Satan to tell God how he should organize heaven.

Moscow will Stand its Ground on Kosovo, One Way or the Other

According to Tanjug, Russian Ambassador to Serbia Aleksander Alekseyev says his country will stand its ground on Serbian province of Kosovo-Metohija.
In an interview for the Thursday issue of Belgrade daily Politika, Alekseyev said that it would be “a very serious mistake if the EU mission arrived in Kosovo without a corresponding decision of the UN Security Council,” reminding that the possible replacement of the UN mission with an EU mission “had been envisaged, but only in scope of a general regulation the sole basis of which was Resolution 1244.”
Asked if Russia was considering the possibility of its military presence in Serbia, as opposed to that of NATO in Kosovo-Metohija province, a subject which Radical’s deputy leader and Serbia’s presidential candidate Tomislav Nikolic raised in public recently, the Russian ambassador replied that it was “a very delicate matter not considered until now.”
“We have had different plans that refered, first of all, to our economic presence and political support, which we are working on very seriously,” Alekseyev explained.
At the same time, Russian ambassador also reminded of a recent statement by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Yuri Baluyevskiy, who did not rule out the possibility of military assistance to Serbia, but in one case only — if Serbia requested something of the kind.

CIA/NATO Queen Schook Gets Booted by the UN from Serbian province of Kosovo

UNMIK deputy head, retired US General Steven Schook, who is under investigation because of his links with terrorist KLA members, left southern Serbian province on Tuesday, after being told that his contract would not be renewed, an unidentified UN official told the AP news agency. Schook, whose term of office as deputy head of UNMIK will officially end on December 31, will not be invited back to participate in the mission, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation case.
The official offered no reason why Schook had been requested to leave or any details about the investigation.
Schook told local media in September that the UN office was investigating his links with Kosovo Albanian officials, including “energy minister” Ethem Ceku, who led a murky multi million dollar power plant construction project.
Schook is also under investigation because of his unprofessionally close relationship with Ramush Haradinaj, former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA/UCK) terrorist commander turned politician, and a war criminal currently on trial in the Hague for atrocities committed against Serbian and Albanian civilians (an Albanian woman who testified against Haradinaj and Brahimaj as a protected witness told the court that, when KLA butchers were done with her husband, “only his soul was left untouched, everything else was mutilated” — Albanian liberators indeed).

Kosovo Serbs Rally Behind their Government

Serbs in the town of Kosovska Mitrovica, the largest remaining Serbian enclave in the province ethnically cleansed of over 300,000 non-Albanians since the arrival of NATO in 1999, today staged a rally to say that Kosovo Serbs want to continue living in the province and within Serbia.
The rally in a central city square was held in support of the state delegation that is participating at a UN Security Council session on Wednesday, focusing on the future status of southern Serbian province of Kosovo, following the stage of negotiations mediated by the Contact Group troika.
The gathering, organized by the Serbian National Council (SNV), comes a day ahead of a UN Security Council meeting dedicated to the future status of Kosovo, as a sign of support for official Belgrade's position in the crisis.

Dhimmis pony up $7.4 billion in jizya for Palestinians

Now this will make them moderate. Uh, won't it?
More on
this story. "French FM: World donors pledge $7.4 billion to boost PA economy," by Avi Issacharoff and Assaf Uni for Haaretz (thanks to WriterMom):
International donors pledged $7.4 billion for the Palestinians at a conference in Paris on Monday, a massive sum that beat the Palestinians' own expectations, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said.
"The real winner today is the Palestinian state," Kouchner told a news conference after the gathering of nearly 90 countries and international organizations. "We wanted $5.6 billion, we have $7.4 billion, not bad."
According to Kouchner, $2.9 billion will be transferred to the Palestinian government in 2008, and the remainder of the sum will be transferred over the next three years.
The Palestinian government had asked for $5.6 billion over the course of three years to shore up its economy amid a renewed push for a Palestinian state.
Topping the donors' list were the European Union, which pledged $630 million, the United States, with a $555 million pledge, and Saudi Arabia, which will donate $500 million.
The Saudis could have and should have been the lead, and indeed the sole, donors.

Presidential Candidate Tomislav Nikolic: EU Will Close Its Doors to Serbia in February

Tomislav Nikolic, presidential candidate in the upcoming elections and leader of Serbian Radical Party, the strongest political party in the country, in an interview for the Sunday edition of the Novi Sad daily Dnevnik said the EU leaders delayed imposed amputation of Kosovo-Metohija province from Serbia until mid February, in order to enable their candidate, Boris Tadic, to win the elections.
Scheduled for January 20, Serbia’s presidential elections are considered decisive in regards to the country’s future relation towards key Western governments which are openly advocating dismemberment of Serbia through the severing of its southern province of Kosovo-Metohija.

London Kings College: Independence Against EU Principles

James Gao, Dept of War Studies expert at Kings College in London, has assessed that the European Union’s decision to recognize a unilateral declaration of independence of Serbian province of Kosovo, would be an act contrary to its historical activity and its professed values. The EU had always tried to avoid situations that favor war, by trying to resolve the issue of borders within a wider partnership. However, it now intends to take away part of a territory of a sovereign state, allegedly in a bid to move towards peace, Gao said in a statement to the London BBC.Such an approach could end in disaster, the British expert cautioned, recalling that in the past 350 years the international order developed in the direction of efforts to avoid war, in a way that borders are not changed without agreement and consensus.

Turkish health workers condone wife beating

"Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them." -- Qur'an 4:34
A Let-Them-Into-The-EU Update from Physorg.com (thanks to Pamela):
Domestic violence is an inherent problem in Turkey, and healthcare workers are doing little to combat the prevalence of wife beating, according to research published in the online open access journal, BMC Public Health. A survey of medical personnel reveals that a lack of training and a cultural acceptance of domestic violence may prevent victims from obtaining the support they desperately require. 173 medical staff from the emergency department of a Turkish university hospital responded to a questionnaire about domestic violence. 69.0% of the female and 84.7% of the male respondents declared that they agreed or partially agreed to at least one reason to justify physical violence.
Accepted grounds for intimate domestic violence included lying to or criticising the male and failure to care for children. Moreover, about three-quarters of the nurses and male physicians and over half of female physicians agreed that deceiving the husband justified physical punishment. Deceiving the husband is a taboo in Turkey and it is among the most important reasons for honour murders.

Ready for the World War Three?

Russian nuclear powered attack submarine somewhere in the Mediterranean.
Putin Orders ‘First Strike’ Against US Forces Over Kosovo
Report by Sorcha Faal
In reading the latest Military and Intelligence reports circulating in the Kremlin today one cannot help but have the feeling that our world has entered into a time-warp and instead of this being 2007, we have been plunged 93 years back to 1914.
In 1914, after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the Austro-Hungarian Empire issued an ultimatum to the Russian backed Serbian government, and who instead of bending to the Western Powers mobilized for war. The resulting aftermath of the First World War left over 40 million dead with an additional 50 million human beings killed by the Spanish Flu Epidemic spread around the World by Western military forces returning from war in 1918.
Here in 2007, we, again, have the spectre of World War looming over us as Serbia, once again backed by Russia, is mobilizing for war due to the Western Powers intention to acknowledge the independence of the Serbian province of Kosovo, and which Russia has vowed will not be allowed to stand.

Kosovo: Throwing the jihadists a bone

Throwing the jihadists a bone in the form of the Serbian province of Kosovo still dominates official thinking (if one can call it that) in Washington. Counter Walid Phares:
Will the US also please the Wahhabis by forcing India to relinquish Kashmir, the Philippines to let go of Mindanao, Russia to cut Chechnya loose, Cyprus to abandon its Turkish north and last but not least, Israel to slice out half of the Galilee to its own Muslim minority? Playing this Jihadi-inspired card would ultimately strengthen al Qaeda's lexicon of "Islamic causes" at the expense of potential legitimate causes for ethnic minorities, including those who happen to be of Muslim background. Western gaming of these crises with an Islamic dimension, including Kosovo, can only backfire and cause even more tension.

The Avalanche of Propaganda

Those who have been following the developments surrounding southern Serbian province of Kosovo could not fail to notice Western propaganda machinery was starting to get dangerously overheated around December 10, as the NATO-imposed deadline for negotiations over Kosovo-Metohija status was nearing. The unstoppable avalanche is continuing at the present, ahead of the announced UN Security Council Kosovo session scheduled for December 19.
The MSM, swarming with propagandistic iditorials, agitprop op-eds and quasi-articles devoid of any informative value, but hot-‘n-heavy on independence-is-inevitable mantra and the tireless repetition of the wartime propaganda and myths busted long ago, have flooded the mass media to the point where reading the daily “news” should start with a reminder to get the barf bags ready.
Serving the interests of the Western elite, the propaganda deluge is this time around as boring and repetitive as ever. Most of the lobbyists monkeying as journalists are simply borrowing the whole passages and phrases — lies, misinformation, unsubstantiated allegations and all — from each other, parroting the same tired slogans, twisting the same facts, ignoring the same inconvenient details, omitting the same embarrassing points and rooting for the same State Department cause.
They do differ in delivery, though. Some, like NY Times Comrade Nicholas Wood, barely manage to preserve the thin top veneer of common decency, while others, like BBC’s Allan Little, have dropped all the pretense long time ago, letting their hateful Serbophobia rip with abandon. Clearly, once it is decided the truth doesn’t really matter and that no facts will be allowed to get in your way, it becomes merely a matter of outdoing the most vicious of trolls, by pouring more vitriolic acid over the head of a collective designated enemy — in this case, the Serbs.

EU Mission Not Welcome on Serbia’s Territory

Serbian Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Slobodan Samardzic said today that Serbia has sent a clear message to the EU that it most vigorously opposes the arrival of an EU Mission to Kosovo-Metohija. Such a move would mean the beginning of the implementation of the plan proposed by former Finnish president Martti Ahtisaari, charged by the German intelligence agency BND of taking bribes to recommend severing of the Serbian province to the UN Security Council.
In a statement to the Tanjug news agency, Samardzic said that Serbia sent an equally clear message saying that the issue of the new mission can be solved only after a compromise solution to the future status of the southern Serbian province is reached at the UN Security Council.

Kosovo-Metohija Ministry Opens Office in Southern Serbian Province

Unilateral proclamation of independence of Kosovo province and the arrival of the EU mission that will implement [failed] Ahtisaari plan are possible only by force and drastic violation of the principal norms of international law, said Serbian Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Slobodan Samardzic at the official opening of the office of this ministry on December 10 in the town of Kosovska Mitrovica.
Samardzic said that Serbia was defending its sovereign territory and the right of the Serbian people to live in its internationally recognized borders, and at the same time defending the principles of international law.
Official Belgrade will insist that the negotiating process on the status of Kosovo be continued so that a compromise solution, which would adhere to the UN Charter and the Helsinki Final Act is reached, said Serbian Kosovo Minister.

Unilateral Declaration of Independence to be Annulled by the UN

Beta news agency reports that Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko, Russia’s representative in the Contact Group Troika, said on Dec. 10 that any decision by the Kosovo Albanian separatists to proclaim the province’s independence unilaterally, bypassing the U.N. Security Council, would be illegal.
A unilateral proclamation of independence would violate Resolution 1244 of the U.N. Security Council. If this should happen, Russia will demand the revoking of such a decision, its annulment, Botsan-Kharchenko told the Russian RIA Novosti.
On few previous occasions when Kosovo Albanian separatists have declared independence of the Serbian province of Kosovo-Metohija, the United Nation’s officials have annulled the declarations — there is no reason why they would not do the same this time around, since such a move is as illegal and unlawful today as it was a year or three years ago.

Western Complaisance WWII Victims, Exiled Sudet Czechs, Against Kosovo Independence

Kosovo Compromise Report
The separation of Kosovo from Serbia is now a way to pacify Islamic terrorism at someone else's expense, just as the world in Munich in 1938 at someone else's expense tried to pacify Nazism, the Czechs exiled from the Sudet region after the annexion of the Czech region in 1939 by Hitler's Germany have warned.
An open letter to the Czech public and the Serbian ambassador to Prague was signed, apart from the exiled, by a group of historians and opposition Social Democrats, led by former Czech Prime Minister Milos Zeman.

Turkey investigates reported ties between police, alleged killers of Christians

Let them into the EU. That'll fix everything.
An update on
this story. "Turkey Investigates Alleged Ties Between Police, Alleged Killers of Christians," from the Associated Press:
ANKARA, Turkey — Turkey has launched an investigation into alleged collusion between police officers and at least one of the suspects charged with killing three Christians earlier this year at a publishing house that produces Bibles, an official said Saturday.
Two senior police inspectors will be assigned to investigate whether any officers provided assistance to the suspects, an Interior Ministry official said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media. He did not provide further details.
The three Christians — a German and two Turks — were killed in the southern city of Malatya on April 18. The killings — in which the victims were tied up and had their throats slit — drew international condemnation and added to Western concerns about whether Turkey can protect its religious minorities.
Five people were arrested and charged with murder. The trial opened last month, but was quickly adjourned until Jan. 14 because defense attorneys requested more time to prepare their arguments.
The Interior Ministry decided to open an investigation after several newspapers published stories Saturday alleging cooperation between police and at least one of the suspects.
Radikal newspaper quoted two of the suspects, Abuzer Yildirim and Salih Guler, as saying in their testimonies that a third suspect Emre Gunaydin told them that he had met with police officials and learned about the locations of Christian churches in the city.
"I asked him who are the police chiefs that you are speaking to, he said: 'Don't ask, take it easy,"' Radikal quoted Yildirim as saying.

Many Turks are convinced that a so-called "deep state" — a network of state agents or ex-officials, possibly with links to organized crime — periodically targets reformists and other perceived enemies in the name of nationalism.
Christian leaders have said they are worried that nationalists are stoking hostility against non-Turks and non-Muslims by exploiting uncertainty over Turkey's place in the world.
The uncertainty — and growing suspicion against foreigners — has been driven by Turkey's faltering EU membership bid, a resilient Kurdish separatist movement and by increasingly vocal Islamists who see themselves — and Turkey — as locked in battle with a hostile Christian West.

Top of the Dungheap: NATO-Run Kosovo Province, the Fourth Most Corrupt Region in the World

Southern Serbian province of Kosovo, run by NATO since June 1999, is the fourth region with the highest corruption rate in the world, said a report from the organization Transparency International, an anti-corruption watchdog based in Berlin.
Transparency International’s 2007 Global Corruption Barometer showed that Kosovo province under the NATO-imposed Albanian separatist KLA leadership known for its underground roots in illegal trade dominated by the heroin trade and human trafficking, is among the most corrupt regions in the world today.
The survey conducted by Transparency International, which included 60 world countries and territories, Kosovo province ranks fourth in corruption — right after Albania and before Macedonia, while Cameroon and Cambodia are at the top of the list.
According to the 2007 Global Corruption Barometer, the countries with the highest levels of corruption and bribery are Cambodia, Cameroon, Albania, Kosovo province, Macedonia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Romania and Senegal.
The Gallup International Association that has conducted the Barometer survey on behalf of Transparency International, cites that 67 percent of Kosovo province residents have stated they have to pay bribes to get services.

NY Times Agitprop

Moldy NY Times Relegated to Utter Insignificance
As Melana Pejakovich pointed out recently “It's sad really. I am old enough to recall when David Binder (who actually understood the Balkans) wrote for them. Back then, the NYT did some fine reporting and editorials. And if anyone reads the NYT from back in the 1980's, the picture of the situation was clear and backed by fact and not innuendo, in articles like this one (which is actually somewhat prophetic in retrospect).
“But then the editors took a stupid pill and forgot everything that they published and everything they stood for, to pander to the lowest common denominator of reader. Today, The National Enquirer has more credibility than the NYT, but they just "can't understand" why their readership has dropped! Well, duh!”

The Murzsteg Reform Plan

By Carl Savich
Introduction: Crisis in the Kosovo Vilayet, 1903
By 1903, “the international community”, the Great Powers, sought to maintain the status quo in the Kosovo vilayet, a district or province of Ottoman Turkey, known as Turkey in Europe, by organizing an international intervention. An international peacekeeping force was set up in the Kosovo vilayet to implement the Murzsteg Plan, an international agreement intended to bring peace and stability to the province. The Murzsteg Plan merely perpetuated the status quo, however, as the Great Powers sought to advance their interests in the Balkans. The international intervention was an abject failure that only exacerbated the conflict. The “international community”, the Great Powers, used international intervention and humanitarianism as a guise and a smokescreen to secure and advance their economic, military, political, and strategic interests in the Balkan peninsula. The Great Power rivalry in the Balkans would only increase and intensify until it engulfed the region, the continent, and the world in a global conflict, in World War I.

Serbia Will Defend Kosovo by All Means Necessary

Prime Ministerial Adviser Aleksandar Simic says that there is still no solution to the Kosovo crisis anywhere in sight, but that Serbia intends to defend its province of Kosovo-Metohija by all the means it had at its disposal.
“When someone fails to respect the Security Council, the only body that ought to react in times when there is a threat of aggression and war, particularly when someone does not observe Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter and the resolution that was adopted in line with it, then there is nothing else a country can do,” Aleksandar Simic said late on Tuesday, in a live broadcast on Radio-Television Serbia (RTS).
Asked what was missing in Serbia’s daily claims that it would fight for Kosovo using all legal and political means, he replied that war was also a legal means, when no other options to defend state sovereignty and territorial integrity remained.
“Serbia has had negative experiences from the armed clashes during the civil wars in the former Yugoslavia, and this is why we are more prudent and cautious now but, of course, state interests are defended by war as well — every state has the right to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity by all means necessary,” Simic stressed.

Billary Clinton, the Hashim Thaci’s Employee

What Hashim “The Snake” Thaci Buys With Millions of Heroin/Human Trafficking Dollars: Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton
Billary’s Statement on future status of southern Serbian province of Kosovo-Metohija
“On December 10, the US-EU-Russian troika seeking a mutually acceptable settlement of the future status of Kosovo will make its report to the United Nations and to the world.
“Given the current position of the Russian government, it is unlikely that any agreement will be reached. If this is the case, I believe that further delay would be highly inadvisable. This process, which started far too late thanks to the neglect of the Bush Administration in its first term, has run its course. With Russia threatening to veto any arrangement submitted to the U.N. Security Council, we must be prepared to strongly support the will of the majority of the people of Kosovo. If the government in Pristina decides for independence, I would strongly support prompt U.S. recognition, and I would urge the European Union to do the same. I also congratulate the people of Kosovo on the orderly, peaceful election they have just completed.
“In supporting the independence of Kosovo, I want to stress the high importance that I attach to full protection of the rights of all minorities in Kosovo, especially the Serbs. This is an absolute necessity as Kosovo goes forward.
“I am also concerned about the deterioration of the situation in Bosnia. Twelve years after the Dayton Agreement ended that war, a combination of American neglect, European Union weakness, and Russian and Serbian obstructionism threatens the stability and future of Bosnia. I urge the Administration to pay more attention to this issue, so that it does not once again become a major threat to European stability, especially at the same time as the Kosovo situation approaches a historic juncture.”

Fjordman: Why We Should Oppose an Independent Kosovo

The Euroessayist Fjordman explains why an independent Kosovo will help no one except the global jihadists.
Hans Rustad runs Document.no, the largest independent weblog in my country. A recent post there contained criticism of me, and I have already answered some of it. However, Mr. Rustad also claimed that I support a revisionist view of the Balkan wars of the 1990s which is "just as factually wrong, immoral and politically dangerous as David Irving's Holocaust revisionism." I consider that statement to be too awful to ignore, and decided to write a reply in English.
I have said repeatedly that I believe the Balkan wars were far more complex than we are led to believe by the political establishment, and I fear that we out of ideological blindness have come to support some pretty dangerous Muslim forces. I respect Mr. Rustad for exposing the bias against Israelis in the mainstream media, and I am sad to see that he accepts uncritically a similar bias against the Serbs. My point is that you cannot understand recent history in the Balkans without taking the previous seven centuries of Islamic oppression into account.

Turkish Court: Marital Rape Not A Crime; Turkish Columnist: Decision Turns Women Into Sex Slaves

Turkey takes another step toward becoming a Sharia state in which women are essentially commodities. Let them into the EU! From the MEMRI Blog (thanks to Pamela):
In response to a ruling by Turkey's Supreme Court of Appeals that marital rape is not a crime, İsmet Berkan wrote in his column in Radikal that because of the ruling, if a woman "resists and is killed by her husband in the end, his penalty even could be reduced due to 'grievous provocation!' We learned [about] this during the ‘Stop Violence Against Women’ week..."
He continued, "Unfortunately, the court's decision has the effect of turning women into sex slaves in marriages... Forcing someone into sexual intercourse is called 'rape.' In Turkey, which is making efforts to end violence against women, the Court of Appeals decision must have been a really bad coincidence..."

The Difference Between Serbia and Belgium

On the Brink: Kosovo Clock Runs Out
By Nebojsa Malic, AntiWar.com
There is one constant in the proclamations of those championing the independence of the occupied Serbian province of Kosovo: the more they claim it is "inevitable" and just around the corner, the less likely it becomes. The drive to officially sever the province – occupied in 1999 by NATO, following an illegal war, and administered by a corrupt UN bureaucracy in league with the terrorist KLA – from Serbia began almost immediately following the 2004 pogrom against the remaining ethnic Serbs. It continued in 2005 with the Bush administration adopting their predecessor's Balkans agenda, and in 2006 with the appointment of a pro-Albanian envoy to chair the "negotiations" between Belgrade and the separatists. Then, in June this year, it ran into the brick wall of rejection – mostly from Serbia and Russia, but also some dissenters within the EU, Africa and Asia.
Thus came about "December 10" – an arbitrary date set by the U.S. and the EU for the end of the new "negotiations" on Kosovo, chaired by a troika of envoys from Washington, Brussels and Moscow. The talks were a sham from the very beginning; as the U.S. envoy told the Albanians, backed by the Great Decider, after the failure of talks, the U.S. would support the "inevitable" independence. All the provisional government in Pristina had to do was run out the clock, while the Western media would declare the Serbs and Russians as "obstinate" and "defiant."

Turkey: Spurious case against converts from Islam to Christianity prolonged

"Insulting Turkishness" Update. Let them into the EU!
"Turkey: Spurious Case Against Converts Prolonged," from
Compass Direct:
SILIVRI, Turkey, November 30 (Compass Direct News) – Bowing to demands of prosecution lawyers, yesterday the judge presiding over a contrived case against two Turkish converts to Christianity for “insulting Turkishness” ordered 12 more witnesses to testify.
During a 50-minute hearing yesterday in Silivri, 45 miles west of Istanbul, Judge Metin Tamirci summoned two alleged eyewitnesses, five gendarme soldiers, two policemen and three local residents to appear at the next hearing before the Silivri Criminal Court, set for March 13.
Ultranationalist lawyer Kemal Kerincsiz claimed on behalf of his three young plaintiffs that the potential witnesses on his September 4 petition to the court had “information and eyewitness details” pertinent to the accusations against defendants Hakan Tastan and Turan Topal.
The three Silivri residents summoned are listed on the defendants’ computers as people who had requested Christian literature and a visit from a local Bible correspondence course with which Tastan and Topal worked.
The prosecution had previously requested several of these individuals as potential witnesses, but their admission into the case had been denied by the previous judge. Judge Neset Eren withdrew from the case in September after Kerincsiz accused him of improper bias in his handling of the litigation.
“A year has passed, and the court has already heard all the testimonies on both sides of this case,” defense lawyer Haydar Polat told Compass yesterday. “But it is clear from today’s hearing that the court plans to continue this unfounded case for at least another year or more.”
