French author Pier Pean has written a book in which he documents that the current Foreign Minister of France, Bernard Kouchner, was an servant of American internationalism and was engaged in a 20 year long campaign to remake borders in the Balkans which primarily includes dismemberment of Serbia and ethnic cleansing of Serbs across the...

EUROPE’S CANNED OUTRAGE

Picture: Martin Schulz

by John Rosenthal
Moreover, the source of the latest denunciation of Le Pen should be considered: Martin Schulz, the head of the Socialist group in the European Parliament. Schulz provoked the pseudo-scandal by putting forward a motion designed to prevent Le Pen from becoming the honorary President of the parliament. According to the current rules, this would occur if the presently 80-year-old Le Pen should turn out to be the oldest MEP following the upcoming European elections in June. The prospect of the “old Fascist” and “Holocaust denier” opening the new session as honorary President was, Schulz said, “unacceptable.”
But, to adopt a phrase of Henryk Broder, whereas Martin Schulz appears to be very concerned about threats to dead Jews, he is evidently far less so about threats to Jews who are still living. Schulz has been one of the most vociferous members of the European Parliament in condemning Israel for using “disproportionate” force against its enemies and in making outrageous suggestions of moral equivalence between Israel and Hamas. Already in November 2006, he was the co-sponsor of an EU parliament resolution condemning Israel for using “disproportionate” force and he repeated the charge during the recent Gaza War. Moreover, in a March 10 statement on “the situation in Gaza” [German link], Schulz made a point of condemning the “radicals on both sides.”

Hero of French Resistance to Serbian Nation on the 10th Anniversary of NATO Aggression

Even though ten years ago, because of giving away NATO aggression plans to Serbian military intelligence officer, Major Pierre-Henri Bunel lost everything, a former agent for French military intelligence does not regret his decision to side with the Serbs in a dishonorable, undeclared war of conquest led by the mighty Western nations on the eve of 21st century.
Because of Serbia, Major Bunel lost everything in 1999: his job, decorations, thriving carrier and freedom itself.

Serbia Remembers NATO Aggression

On Tuesday, Serbia mourned thousands of victims of NATO bombardment as the country marked the 10th anniversary of the start of the 78-day NATO aggression.
At midday, air raid sirens sounded throughout the country in a mark of remembrance for the victims. All the activities in offices, schools, institutions and public places were stopped and the people paid tribute to all the victims of the brutal NATO bombardment launched on March 24, 1999, by observing a minute of silence.

Fundamentally Freund: Christian friends

Picture: The German pro-Israel Christian political party of Bible - Abiding Christians (PBC)
Tucked away in the southeastern corner of Virginia, the city of Virginia Beach is about the last place one would expect to find a bastion of passionate pro-Israel sentiment.
With its seemingly endless miles of sand, waves and sun, the sprawling resort town, known as the proud host of the annual East Coast Surfing Championships, seems more well-suited to fun and games than to waging a war of ideas on behalf of the Jewish state. Yet it is precisely in this most unexpected of locales that one of Israel's staunchest allies and defenders can be found: Rev. Pat Robertson's Christian Broadcasting Network, or CBN.

Exposing a Hoax

Ljubica Stefan, the Croatian ghostwriter for front man Philip J. Cohen.
One of the most disturbing and disgusting propaganda hoaxes that occurred during the breakup of the former Yugoslavia was that perpetrated by dermatologist Philip J. Cohen. He is completely forgotten now and his propaganda tract, Serbia’s Secret War, is in the trash bin today. Cohen is a dermatologist. He was never even a historian. Yet he purported to author a major book on history.

1999-2009: Ten Years Since Criminal NATO Aggression and Occupation

“Given the alleged purity of NATO motives — having the objective of assuring truth, freedom and the democratic way — was the bombing subject to censure under international law? The short answer is that the bombing was an act in flagrant contempt of international law, and criminal under that law,” - Walter Rockler, Former Nuremberg Prosecutor.
On September 21 2000, 14 heads of leading NATO states — William Jefferson “Bill” Clinton, Madeleine Korbel Albright, William Sebastian Cohen, Anthony Charles Lynton “Tony” Blair, Robert Finlayson “Robin” Cook, George Islay MacNeill Robertson, Jacques René Chirac, Hubert Védrine, Alan Richar, Gerhard Fritz Kurt Schröder, Joseph Martin “Joschka” Fischer, Rudolf Albert Scharping, Francisco Javier Solana de Madariaga and Wesley Kanne Clark — were tried in absentia by the Belgrade District Court and sentenced [PDF, in Serbian] to 20 years in prison each, upon the charges brought by the Serbian State Prosecutor for the crimes of
– Instigating and fomenting war of aggression;
– Violating territorial integrity and sovereignty;
– Assassination attempts of the highest state officials;
– War crimes against the civilian population;
– Wanton destruction and use of impermissible means of war.
They have yet to serve their prison terms.

“Antisemitism Without Antisemites”

The concept of “anti-Semitism without Jews” is not new. It was, indeed, a defining characteristic of the old East European Soviet bloc, which remained virulently anti-Semitic long after its Jewish population had been destroyed in the Holocaust. But no sooner had we got our head around the concept of “anti-Semitism without Jews” than the new anti-Semitism has produced a new concept: “Anti-Semitism without Anti-Semites.”
The father of the phrase is the German writer Henryk Broder, and the circumstances of its birth was, appropriately, the interior committee of the German Bundestag, to which Broder was giving evidence.
The supposedly non-existent anti-Semites are the phalanx of “progressive” academics, journalists and politicians who express unlimited hatred of Israel and would boycott the state out of existence but vehemently reject the suggestion that they are anti-Semitic. Polite, sophisticated, educated, cultured Europeans have altered their vocabulary. Today they speak of “Zionists” …

JOHN DEMJANJUK AND THE AMAZING HYPOCRISY OF GERMAN JUSTICE

Picture: Däubler - Gmelin
by John Rosenthal
Last week, the Munich district attorney’s office announced that it was charging the 88-year-old John Demjanjuk with some 29,000 counts of accessory to murder for his alleged activity as a guard at the Sobibor concentration camp during the Second World War. Germany is seeking the long-time Ohio resident’s extradition from the United States and all the signs suggest that the Obama administration is prepared to facilitate the request. The spectacular development, coming over 60 years after the end of the Second World War, will lead many Americans to believe that Germany is exceptionally thorough and vigilant about prosecuting Nazi war crimes. And this is indeed presumably the purpose of the Demjanjuk indictment – for the reality could hardly be more different.

Hague Tribunal Uses Suffering of Kosovo Serbs to Prepare False Witnesses

To their greatest dismay, Yugoslav Army war veterans have found out their reliving of the horrors of war against the terrorist KLA (UCK) in Kosovo and Metohija, during alleged therapy sessions in counselling centers for war traumas, were abused and exploited to prepare false witnesses in the Hague Tribunal, to pin the KLA crimes they witnessed to Serb indictees.
Serbian war veterans, protesting the recent arrest of their fellow soldiers, charged counselling centers which were opened after the Kosovo war and NATO aggression by some Western-funded non-government organizations in central Serbia, of using the alleged therapy sessions provided for soldiers to gather information, which they used to prepare the Hague Tribunal’s false witnesses.

Matthias Küntzel: Prof. Benz and the Earthquake

Re “Berlin conference didn’t lump Islamophobia with anti-Semitism” (Right of Reply, Yehuda Bauer, March 5):
I am very grateful that Elie Wiesel took a position in The Jerusalem Post on the dispute about the Berlin Center for Anti-Semitism Research. He spoke carefully, in the conditional: “If indeed the Berlin Center downplays the Iranian anti-Semitic threat, it surely is deplorable.”
The Berlin Center is an important public institution with an international reputation. It should, especially in Germany, be addressing Iran’s anti-Semitic threat energetically, so that politicians and industry understand why the increase in German exports to Iran in 2008 is inexcusable.
In this area, the center has failed. To date, it has not published a single public statement on Iran’s anti-Semitic threat. Whenever its director, Prof. Wolfgang Benz, distances himself from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, he does so in general terms that do not address his anti-Semitism.

CIA and MI6 Work in Mysterious Ways

Kosovo Albanian terrorist Florim Ejupi, who had been sentenced to 40 years imprisonment by the UNMIK [United Nations Mission in Kosovo] court for planting and detonating an explosive device on the route taken by the Niš Express bus, causing the deaths of 12 Serbs and wounding another 43 on February 16, 2001, had been acquitted and set free by the court of the EU Mission in Serbian province.
Ejupi, member of the terrorist KLA, who was directly linked to the crime through the presence of his DNA on the fresh cigarette butts found at the crime scene, has established ties to the terrorist circles of Albanian organized crime, within “former KLA” and its successor KPS (Kosovo Police Service) under UN/NATO troops. After he was captured and awaiting trial by the UNMIK court, in spite of all security measures in place, Ejupi miraculously escaped from American prison in Camp Bondsteel, a virtual fortress of high security, guarded day and night by the American, German and British armies.

Welcome to Ramallmö

On January 27th, it had been almost a month since the Israeli military operation Cast Lead was launched in Gaza. A couple of hundred people, mostly Jews, had gathered in Sweden’s third largest city, Malmö, to show their support for Israel. Their slogans--"Israel’s right to self defense” and “Compassion with all civilian victims"--were met with shouts of “Sieg Heil” and “Damn Jews” by a group of mainly Arab and left-wing counter protesters. Stones, eggs, and bottles were thrown, and when a home-made bomb was fired at the Jewish group police finally decided to evacuate. The pro-Israeli protesters fled, while children ran after them with cell phones to report back into the crowd where the Jews were heading.

How many Nazi criminals did Germany punish in 60 years?

By Tom Segev
There is little chance that the 88-year-old Demjanjuk will be extradited to Germany. He is more likely to die of old age during the lengthy court procedures. It is also uncertain a German court can try a non-German for committing a crime that did not take place on German soil. Furthermore, Germany's record for trying Nazi criminals is nothing it should feel proud about. More than 36,000 criminal investigations were opened against 172,000 suspects. Of the former number only one in 10 was indicted, and half of those charged were found guilty. Fewer than 10 percent of those found guilty were convicted for crimes at extermination camps, and most of those were given a light sentence. In all, four Nazis were executed and 166 given life sentences.

Sweden's anti-Israel apartheid policy is about more than sport

By ABRAHAM COOPER AND HAROLD BRACKMAN
Neutral Sweden's mixed World War II legacy is still debated by historians. On the one hand it supplied Nazi Germany with iron ore and ball bearings and allowed the Wehrmacht to use the Swedish railway system to transport soldiers. On the other hand, spurred on by the Danes, it accepted Danish Jews marked for mass murder by the Nazis.

FORGETTING SADDAM'S VICTIMS

by Falah Muradkhin Shakaram
I must admit that I was astonished when I recently read in the newspaper that a German parliamentary delegation was visiting Iraqi Kurdistan and that the head of the delegation, Herta Däubler-Gmelin, had made critical remarks about the situation of human rights in the region. I was equally astonished that our Kurdish politicians accepted this criticism without protest.
As someone who survived the Iraqi army’s poison gas attack on Halabja and who has been working for a German aid organization for the last eleven years, I may be permitted to make some comments on Ms. Däubler-Gmelin’s visit.

„The Liberation Movement of Iranian Women – Year Zero“

A Historical Document from Iran on the Occasion of the International Women’s Day on the 8th of March
By Fathiyeh Naghibzadeh
On the 7th of March 1979, only weeks after the revolution in Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini ordered that women should only be allowed to enter public buildings dressed with a headscarf. After this – and on the occasion of the International Women’s Day on the 8th of March that year - there were numerous demonstrations against mandatory veiling. As a direct result of these demonstrations, the Islamists were forced to rescend their order, if only temporarily.

Clemens Heni: A Friendly Response to Prof. Bauer

Yehuda Bauer wrote on 4 March 2009 in the JPost on the Berlin center of research on anti-Semitism (ZfA), and accused Berlin based JPost correspondent Benjamin Weinthal of blaming this center to equate “Islamophobia” with anti-Semitism. Well, Bauer is of course a very good and important historian and I read his books, especially on the Holocaust and anti-Semitism, always with great interest. It was a big honour to get his applause at the Maiersdorf Faculty Club at SICSA as I spoke for the first time at Hebrew University – on Germany and anti-Semitism – in December 2002.
First of all it is astonishing that Bauer accuses Weinthal. Why? In the JPost four articles appeared on that Berlin conference, held on 8 December 2008. Two of these articles (Op-Eds) were written by myself, including the initial one, even before the conference, on 3 December 2008. Why is he not …

The KLA: Our “Anti-Communist Freedom Fighters”

By Julia Gorin
So it was written, and so it came to pass. In 1999, a law professor named Mark Almond was published in National Review magazine, which was otherwise among the many — for some reason — conflicted conservative publications when it came to Clinton’s “war”. I only came across this piece recently and have highlighted some of Almond’s revelations and stunningly accurate predictions. If they can be called that, given that even the word “predictability” fails when it comes to Kosovo, a failure almost by design.

30 Years Islamic Republic of Iran: The results of the Islamic revolution and the Western policy

Lecture and discussion with Amir Taheri (London)
Wednesday, March 4, 2009, 8 p.m. at the Werkstatt der Kulturen
Wissmannstraße 32, Berlin-Neukölln (U7/U8 Hermannplatz, Map)
30 years of Islamic Republic of Iran stand not only for dictatorship and terror, but also for 3 decades of failed Iran policy of the West. While the tyranny in Iran – the persecution of the opposition, women, and independent labour unions, religious and ethnic minorities – continues, the enforced nuclear program makes the regime a daily growing international threat. Atomic weapons would not only pose an existential threat to Israel, but would also lead to an arms race in the crisis-ridden Middle East and would strengthen radical Islamic forces worldwide. The extensive Iranian support for Hamas and Hezbollah already aims at the annihilation of Israel and the spreading of the Islamic revolution.
