Albanian organ trader threatens witnesses

The named Kosovo Albanian organ trafficker Hashim Thaci said that he will reveal names of witnesses that have provided facts about his organized crime involvement, a move that many fear will mean an almost certain death for those witnesses.
“There are witnesses and proofs that show the way in which the report has been prepared,” Thaci said to an Albanian TV station Klan.
Thaci’s statement was made about the report by Swiss Council of Europe deputy Dick Marty which says that Thaci and other senior Albanian gunmen of the ethnic-Albanian guerrilla terrorists known as the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) were involved in organized crime and organ trafficking during and after their 1998-1999 war.

Germany: Terrorism threat remains high, CSU warns

The threat of terrorist attacks in German cities remains acute six weeks after authorities warned of an imminent danger, and tight security measures must remain in place, the Christian Social Union party has said.
Stefan Müller, the Bavarian conservatives’ parliamentary leader in Berlin, said on Thursday that there was no reason to relax the heightened security measures at places such as the Reichstag parliamentary building.“The danger level that was the reason a few weeks ago for heightened security precautions in the parliamentary district, has not changed,” he said.In November, Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière warned of “concrete” evidence that Germany faced imminent attacks from Islamic extremists, prompting authorities to boost security at the Reichstag in Berlin as well as transport hubs around the country.Regardless of any existing state of high alert, authorities also had to consider “how the overall security architecture around the parliament can be optimised,” he said.Police in late November closed the popular Reichstag dome and roof to visitors unless they had booked on a tour in advance. The historic building is also protected by temporary fencing patrolled by armed police.Müller said he favoured a security overhaul including a separate visitor security centre where tourists could be screened before entering the building.“When you look at the high number of people going in who are screened each day, the question arises how you change the system,” he said.

Germany: Airports demand racial profiling to fight terror

The incoming head of Germany’s main airport lobby group is demanding the nation’s transit authorities use racial profiling to weed out terrorists at security checks. Christoph Blume, the head of Düsseldorf Airport, told daily Rheinische Post on Tuesday that air passengers should be divided into different risk categories, meaning they would be subject varying degrees of scrutiny by airport security.“That way, the security system could become more effective to everyone’s benefit,” said Blume, who will take the helm of the ADV airport association next month.He said profiling passengers according to characteristics such as race, religion and country of origin would allow German airports to avert a further tightening of security.While highly controversial because of its discriminatory nature, racial profiling has also found growing support in some quarters. However, critics fear it would stigmatize entire groups of passengers simply on their looks, faith or from where their trip originated."Such suggestions sound too much like the wish to save some time," said Bernhard Witthaut, the head of the GdP police union, in Berlin on Tuesday. "But it's better to spend half an hour in line than end up dead."But Blume said airports would soon no longer be able to cope with the threat of terrorism. “Each new incident leads to extra checks and security measures. This creates a security escalation that will eventually hit its technical and operational limits,” Blume told the paper.However, Blume still supported the introduction of so-called “naked scanners” that can reveal dangerous objects under clothing at German airports. Currently, backscatter scanners are being tested only in Hamburg before officials decide this spring whether to expand their use nationwide.

Germany: Holidays a high season for Islamist recruitment

Suspected Islamic extremists are reportedly being closely monitored during the holidays, which German intelligence authorities consider to be a high season for Islamist recruitment.
The period between Christmas and New Year is often used by Islamists to attract new followers who fill their time during breaks from work or school by attending sermons and lectures, daily Süddeutsche Zeitung reported on Monday.During the holidays, Islamists hold seminars and other events to “indoctrinate particularly young people with Salafist preachers,” an intelligence source from the North Rhine-Westphalia Office for the Protection of the Constitution told the paper.“That is not a new development,” the source said.Such seminars were particularly troubling “because they have the space and time to offer group education and exert extremist influence through often charismatic lecturers.”Of particular concern are preachers from the Salafi community which supports a fundamentalist stream of Islam that aims to create a society modelled on the purported original community of the Prophet Mohammed.The star of this scene is a former boxer called Pierre Vogel – also known as Abu Hamza – who pushes a strict interpretation of Islam but publicly condemns violence and terrorism.A group connected to him, called “Invitation to Paradise” was raided by the police the week before last. On orders from Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière, officers searched the group’s headquarters and also the homes of leading members for material that could provide a basis on which to ban the organisation.Vogel, a regular preacher at the Al-Nur mosque in the Berlin district of Neukölln, has cancelled several recent events.In the town of Elsdorf west of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia, a three-day “Islam education meeting” was held between Friday and Sunday. Authorities kept a close eye on it because the teachers at the seminars are considered radical preachers by intelligence agencies that monitor extremism.The meeting included such preachers Hassan Dabbagh from Leipzig and Mohamed Benhsaid from Bonn, both of whom authorities consider radical.Two of the preachers recently faced a complaint – ultimately unsuccessful – by Munich prosecutors that their sermons had criminal associations.

German mayor slams ‘Cologne Wailing Wall’ exhibit

BERLIN – Mayor of Cologne Jürgen Roters (Social Democratic) and its sister city partnerships, Cologne-Tel Aviv and Cologne-Bethlehem, issued a joint statement last week blasting the long-standing anti- Israel exhibit in his community’s bustling Cathedral Square pedestrian-only zone. According to the resolution, “The anti-Semitic and anti- Israel presentation of the socalled ‘Cologne Wailing Wall’ spreads hatred against humans and feeds anti-Israel resentments.”
Members of the major parties on the Cologne city council, representatives of the Catholic and Evangelical churches, the Society for Christian- Jewish Relations in Cologne, and the local Jewish community also signed the resolution. Roters and the Cologne authorities called on Walter Hermann, the organizer of the “Cologne Wailing Wall,” to “immediately remove the installation that shows contempt for humanity” and said the city of Cologne would no longer accept Hermann’s exhibit and approach. The resolution said that Hermann has displayed his hatefest against Israel since 2004. During his visit to Israel earlier this month, Roters presented the resolution to his Tel Aviv counterparts. Hermann’s display of an anti-Semitic cartoon in January triggered a legal complaint and a grassroots campaign from the non-Jewish theater director Gerd Buurmann. The cartoon showed a man sporting a Star of David on his bib as he devoured a young Palestinian boy with a fork while draped in an American flag and a knife with the word “Gaza.” A glass filled with blood stood next to to his dinner plate. Buurmann filed a legal protest earlier this year, asserting a violation of Germany’s anti-hate law, which prohibits incitement against minority groups. In April, the Cologne public prosecutor dismissed Buurmann’s grievance, saying the cartoon represented criticism of Israel’s policies in Gaza and not hostility toward Jews. The Israeli Embassy then said: “If one shows a figure with an Israeli flag devouring a Palestinian child, this reminds us of the most scurrilous accusations of ritual murder in European anti-Semitism... We don’t interfere in the decisions of German judicial authorities. But at the same time, we are convinced that the cartoon was of a clearly anti-Semitic nature and that it incites hatred and violence. “The claim that one must distinguish between hatred of the Jewish people and hatred of the State of Israel is absolutely inappropriate and leaves a bad taste.” It is unclear if the joint resolution will compel Hermann to pull the plug on his exhibit. Some say anti-Israeli sentiments are high in Cologne, and that this helps explains the civil society’s failure over the years to mount widespread protests against the “Cologne Wailing Wall.”

Former Pakistani chief, Pervez Musharraf casually observed in his book that Kosovo is Jihad.
Said Musharraf:
It is believed in some quarters that while Omar Sheikh was at the LSE [London School of Economics] he was recruited by the British intelligence agency MI-6. It is said that MI-6 persuaded him to take an active part in demonstrations against Serbian aggression in Bosnia and even sent him to Kosovo to join the jihad.
Omar Sheikh is not the only one outed because there are some who out themselves.
Aukai Collins claims to be a mujahid and an FBI informant and in his book he describes his elaborate trip from Middle East over into Albania where Albanian government officials provided accommodation and training for the KLA and incorporated these Jihadists into these Albanian KLA terrorist units.
So, even if we are to consider it incredible that Brits would fan Jihad elsewhere in order to postpone the one inside their country; if we are to dismiss Musharraf, officer who was in Bosnia, as a soldier with no credibility, or consider what Collins describes as effluvia, then here come the WikiLeaks, documents considered by the US government a credible secret.

In 1944, a second Bosnian Muslim SS Division was formed, “Kama”. Himmler, “the architect of genocide”, and “the architect of the Holocaust”, was determined to create an all-Muslim Nazi SS division. Although nominally a “Croatian” or “Croat” formation, Himmler always wanted and envisioned a Muslim division made up of Bosnian Muslims, or “Bosniaks”. The division was even referred to as an “Ustasha” division. But, in fact, Himmler always intended the Handzar Division to be a Bosnian Muslim SS Division under German and Bosnian Muslim military and political control.

How could Kouchner not know of Albanian organized crime says Canadian detective

Canada’s Captain Stu Kellock, who served as a crimes detective in Kosovo, believes that there is no doubt that France’s Bernard Kouchner had to have known of the Kosovo Albanian organized crime.“I cannot attest that Kouchner knew about the organ trade but there is absolutely no chance that he did not have information about the organized crime in Kosovo. Police commissar informed him [Kouchner] regularly and he himself would act in a fit when he would show up at the place of crime in order to win the media,” Kellock is quoted as saying to the Belgrade TV, RTS, and translated here. It has been suggested by several many that Kouchner, himself a doctor, was part of the Albanian organ trade although just few days ago Kouchner denied he knew anything about it. Kellock says that rumors of Albanian organ trade were circulating during his service in Kosovo – in 2000 and 2001 – but that his staff was so overwhelmed with Albanian crime that, says Kellock, he did not have time to investigate rumors. “Rumors about organ trade appeared even in my time but were not proven. There was talk about a hospital in Pristina and the criminal activity that is going on there, but at the time there were so many other, burning priorities. I had way too few people to be able to investigate rumors,” Kellock is quoted by the RTS. Kellock said that the Pristina hospital moved enormous amounts of money whose source was completely unknown. “In one case, a gun battle broke [at the hospital] when one security guy was killed an one million Deutsche Marks was stolen. Absolutely nobody could explain to us how and why was there one million Marks at the hospital,” said Kellock. Kellock says that organ trade is just one branch of the Albanian organized crime business in Kosovo. “The KLA and the Kosovo Security Force control the border crossings. Afghan heroin, fuel, women, weapons and all kinds of merchandise passes through unimpeded because the vehicles are specially marked,” says Kellock. Kellock cites a case of a UN border guard who attempted to play by the book and enforce the law.“I know of a case when a border guard, in the beginning, did not want to cooperate [with the Albanian criminals] and he made the driver pay the duty… Afterwards, he and his family got threatened with death and he was forced to go to the house of Sabit Geci, and pay the duty back out of his own money and beg for his life and life of his family,” says Kellock. Kellock says that violence was very common and that it was done mostly by Thaci’s men.Kellock takes note of his mission to Albanian border to investigate theft of UN vehicles that were appearing in Albania.“In Tropoje [Serbia-Albania border crossing] I was greeted by the chief of police and several of his officers. Kosovo: Organ trader in coalition with chemical weapons dealer?

Recently victorious Kosovo Albanian mob boss Hashim Thaci, named by the Council of Europe as the organ trader, has entered into a political coalition with an Albanian billionaire Behgjet Pacolli whose wealth empire itself is a suspect not just because of his possible chemical weapons dealings.
Council of Europe details rather well Thaci’s criminal escapades, but back in 2007, I wrote on Pacolli citing a rather obscure trade Pacolli made with Russian Biopreparat, a chemical weapons company.
To – and forgive me – quote myself:
“In 1993, Banca del Gottardo was handling the contract between Lugano-based, Pacolli-owned Interplastica and a Soviet-era biological weapons producer Biopreparat. Two former Biopreparat defecties to the West, one in 1989 and 1992, said that the firm never ceased to produce biological weapons”.
Pacolli also dealt with Russia’s drunk, the Yeltsin, and it is to be expected that some intelligence on those dealings will come about in the future.
As for Lugano, and Jim Jatras remembers this, some disgruntled Albanians who live there, a software guy whose picture and family history we have acquired, was threatening a “libel” suit over the article mentioned above – obviously ignorant that in the US anyone can say anything including the truth.
Anywho… “Carla del Ponte investigated KremlinGate and concluded that she could not prosecute because Swiss laws allow bribing of officials,” said I.. and forgive my immodesty.
Incidentally, Muslim Albanians from Kosovo make a perfect al-Qaeda fit not just because they look European and are organized into Muslim crime families like in Afghanistan, but also because their names can be spelled many different ways, a tactic al-Qaeda uses to shield their cells.

Austria under fire for promoting trade with Teheran

"The Chamber of Commerce is advising firms on how to circumvent the sanctions against Iran," Vienna Jewish group says.

The Austrian Chamber of Commerce’s decision early this month to hold a workshop in Vienna to expand trade with Iran has sparked criticism from Austria’s Jewish community and the European NGO Réalité EU.“The Chamber of Commerce is advising firms on how to circumvent the sanctions against Iran,” the Jewish community said on its website.Michael Tockuss, of the German-Iranian Chamber of Commerce, the most important lobbyist of the Holocaust- denying regime in Teheran,” was invited, the Jewish community said.
Austria has contributed to “the diligent construction of commemorative plaques and memorials since the Shoah,” but the Chamber of Commerce does not shy away from trade with Iran, the 7,500-member Jewish community said.According to the community’s statement, current Iranian-Austrian trade relationship reminds one “that under the Nazis, German- Austrian industry profited from the annihilation of Jews.”The Jewish community statement termed Austria’s business deals with Teheran “disgraceful and morally reprehensible.”Dr. Diana Gregor, a political analyst and researcher with Réalité EU, an organization that tracks European- Iranian trade, told The Jerusalem Post this week that “Austria has the reputation of being docile toward Iran.”In June 2009 and this month, the Austrian Chamber of Commerce held seminars to “intensify” business with Iran, said Gregor, an authority on Austrian-Iranian economic relations.“There are roughly 680 Austrian companies that have business relations with Iranian firms or the Iranian state. In October, five German lawmakers—including members of Chancellor Angela Merkel's coalition parties—traveled to Iran in October to meet with a motley crew of leading human rights violators, misogynists, and anti-Semites. The five MPs sought to promote "cultural cooperation" between the two parliaments and countries. Ironically, the five legislators went from a closed society in Iran to a closed-door parliamentary session in Germany to report on their journey.
The taxpayer sponsored political junket with some of Iran’s leading Holocaust deniers raised hardly any attention within the German media at a time when the U.S. is trying to isolate Iran.
Twenty-six-years of German “critical dialogue” and political appeasement toward the Iranian regime is finding its mirror image among many German news outlets and Germany's democracy (and pro-Iranian democrats) is taking the hard hits. The time is ripe for Germany to implement human rights sanctions against Iran’s regime. The first step would be to recall the German ambassador to Iran, Bernd Erbel, as a sign of formal protest.

Kosovo’s prime minister is the head of a “mafia-like” Albanian group responsible for smuggling weapons, drugs and human organs through eastern Europe, according to a Council of Europe inquiry report on organised crime.
Hashim Thaçi is identified as “the boss” of a network that began operating criminal rackets in the run-up to the 1999 Kosovo war, and has held powerful sway over the country’s government since. The report of the two-year inquiry, which cites FBI and other intelligence sources, has been obtained by the Guardian. It names Thaçi as having over the last decade exerted “violent control” over the heroin trade.

German police raid Islamists as ban eyed for fundamental groups

Berlin - Police raided premises of a radical Islamic sect in three German states on Tuesday as authorities studied whether to outlaw the fundamentalist Sunni Muslim movement as anti-democratic.
The Interior Ministry said the inquiry had nothing to do with recent warnings of terrorist attacks on Europe or a Saturday suicide bombing in Stockholm, but was part of a longer-term investigation of a group described by German authorities as Salafist.
The term describes Muslims who believe in the Islam of the first generations after Mohammed and often violently reject modern society.
The premises raided by police belong to two organizations, the Invitation to Paradise EZP, with premises in the cities of Braunschweig and Moenchengladbach, and the Islamic Cultural Centre of Bremen.
German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said recently he might use his powers to ban Salafism in Germany. Citizen groups have campaigned against Salafists setting up prayer halls, alleging that they are radicalizing young Muslims.
A spokesman for the minister said, 'The simultaneous searches today in three states will tell us if the initial suspicions can be confirmed.'
EZP is already officially under surveillance in North Rhine- Westphalia state by anti-subversion police. The group has rejected the charge, arguing in television and newspaper interviews that it merely wants to purify Islam.

German Schools Embrace Islam

In an odd form of social suicide, rather than increasing efforts to integrate Muslims into German society, German students will be taught about Islam. In a sense, German educators will be engaged in proselytizing for Islam.
The German state of Lower Saxony will start including Islam in its schools' core curriculum as part of an initiative to counter growing anti-Islam sentiment in Europe. Dr. Bernad Althusmann, Minister of Education in Lower Saxony announced that schools there will start including Islamic education in their main curriculum, saying, during a visit to an elementary school in the city of Hanover which offers an Islamic education class, "I think we will be able to start implementation by the academic year after the next," said
Justifying this approach, Juergen Zoeliner, Berlin Minister for Education, Science and Research, notes, "For years, society and schools have been faced with a variety of new duties and challenges. One of these big challenges is to have people from different traditions, cultural and religion affiliations living together peacefully and respectfully." .
One might assume that Muslims in the West should come to know and appreciate Western Civilization. Students who are not versed in the history and customs of the polity they find themselves in will be handicapped. Yet integration -- once the overarching strategy for dealing with immigrants -- has been replaced in Germany, and throughout Western Europe, by efforts to bend over backwards to accommodate the Islamic population. In the process, this effort produces results that counter good intentions. First, the Islamic population believes, with considerable confirmation, that Europeans do not possess the will to assert the importance of their own culture and traditions. Second, the insertion of Islam into German schools suggests tacitly that Islam is on the rise and cannot be denied even in non-Islamic nations
"Diversity education" is predicated on the belief that we in the West have on obligation to understand Islam -- however, the converse does not follow.
Of course, whether the program ultimately leads to a peaceful result is questionable. Why did the armies of Europe turn back the Turks at the gates of Vienna 500 years ago when programs, like these instituted in Germany, are handing Islam the keys to the future?

Survey Shows Germans Sceptical about Muslims and Islam

Germans view Muslims and Islam more negatively than do many of their European neighbors, according to a new pan-European opinion survey; and the majority of Germans also entirely disagree with a recent statement by German President Christian Wulff that Islam "belongs in Germany."
The survey provides strong empirical evidence of a wide disconnect between ordinary German voters and Germany's political class over Muslim immigration and the role of Islam in the country. It also shows that scepticism about Muslims and Islam is not limited to the political fringe, as many proponents of multiculturalism assert, but is shared by voters across the political spectrum.

German police brutality against peaceful exile-Iranian protesters in Berlin on Human Rights Day

BERLIN – (EIP) Yesterday, a group of exile-Iranians demonstrated peaceful outside the Iranian Embassy in Berlin, against the violations of human rights in Iran.
The protesters also showed a yellow banner reading “Down with the Islamic Republic of Iran” (photo). The Iranian Embassy staff felt insulted and called the police to remove the transparency.
And the Berlin police willingly followed this demand, and went with great brutality against the demonstrators.
When the participants relied on freedom of expression and refused to give the banner over to the police, the police attacked the demonstrators and take the banner to secure.
After the organizers had declared the demonstration officially over, the police attacked the demonstrators once again. They had formed up behind the protesters and attacked them from the ambush by using extreme brutality against the surprised people.
As a result, several demonstrators were slightly and one seriously injured. A Woman was very seriously injured in the back, she came into the hospital and had a emergency surgery.
Eyewitnesses said, that the behavior of the Berlin police was very reminiscent of the Iranian police and their undemocratic and inhumane procedure. “It’s hard to believe, that something like this happened in Germany today”.
A Berlin police spokesman commented to the media, that two policemen had suffered minor injuries at this demonstration. And exactly this news was then published by the “conformist” German press, without researching the true backgrounds. And no report about the brutal police action, the slightly injured demonstrators and the seriously injured woman, is to find in the german Media.
But the Yesterdays incident is not an isolated. On this years Al-Quds-Day, berlins policemen calmly watching how Islamists hateful moved through the streets of Berlin and loudly shouted “Death to Jews”, while waving illegal Hizbullah flags and anti-Israel banners.
Pro-Israel demonstrators, who carried banners with Hebrew writings were brutally attacked by the German police, and their banners and Israeli flags were ripped from their hands.
Duisburg, Germany: In January 2009 Muslim protester throw stones against an apartment window, in which a israeli flag was to see. A Police-”Sturm Abteilung” forcibly broke in the apartment and removed the hated flag from the window. During the “Polizei Aktion”, the Muslim mob shouted “Allahuakbar”.
More and more often and more clearly we see, that Germany is willing to diffract itself under the violence and intimidation of Islamists, willing to sacrifice on their behalf, the constitutional right to freedom of opinion and freedom of speech.

Kosovo’s Disappeared

During and after the the Kosovo conflict in 1998-1999, the KLA abducted and kidnapped over 2,000 Kosovo civilians, Serbs, Roma, and Albanians that opposed the KLA, who were tortured and murdered. Ten years after the conflict, these 2,000 remain missing. Approximately 1,000 to 1,3000 Kosovo Serbs are missing and presumed dead. How did they die? UNMIK occupation forces have been reluctant to investigate these mass murders of Kosovo civilians. What happened to them? Evidence has emerged that the KLA ran a series of prison camps, in Kosovo and in Albania itself, where they tortured and murdered Kosovo Serbs, Roma, and Albanians. Moreover, Carla Del Ponte disclosed that the KLA had detention centers where they murdered Kosovo Serbs and harvested their organs. What happened to the 2,000 kidnapped and murdered, the missing, Kosovo’s disappeared?

Tax Deductible WikiLeaks

Last weekend, PayPal announced that it was freezing the PayPal account used by WikiLeaks. In a statement, PayPal explained that WikiLeaks was in violation of the company’s acceptable use policy, which “states that our payment service cannot be used for any activities that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity.” But any violations of the law that WikiLeaks either encourages, promotes, facilitates, etc. are apparently not of interest to Germany’s Wau Holland Foundation, the principal collector of funds and de facto financial manager of WikiLeaks. At any rate, this appears to be the case for any violations of American law. German law, as will be seen below, is another matter.
According to Winfried Motzkus, the chair of the Wau Holland Foundation’s board of directors, the foundation has thus far collected some €750,000 for WikiLeaks or nearly a million dollars at current exchange rates. The foundation allegedly disburses funds to WikiLeaks upon the submission of receipts for specific costs. The PayPal account used by WikiLeaks was in fact the account of the Wau Holland Foundation. Clicking the PayPal link on this WikiLeaks donations page still takes one to the now blocked foundation account of the Wau Holland Foundation. In a press release, the foundation has acknowledged the freezing of its account and threatened legal action against PayPal.
But the foundation continues to collect funds for WikiLeaks by bank transfer to its bank account in Kassel. Astonishingly, as WikiLeaks itself emphasizes, such donations are tax deductible for German contributors. This is to say that German taxpayers may deduct contributions to an entity whose only apparent objective in its current incarnation is to leak classified documents of an allied country, namely the United States.
The fact that Germany would thus be supporting WikiLeaks is particularly ironic given that the application of anti-leak laws in Germany itself is unusually draconian. Thus, under the heading, “Aiding and Abetting in the Betrayal of [State] Secrets” [Beihilfe zum Geheimnisverrat], prosecutors may bring criminal charges against not only German officials who leak sensitive information, but also journalists who publish such information. Several journalists and press organs have been the targets of police raids in recent years in connection with suspected “aiding and abetting” of leaks. It remains to be seen whether a legislative reform currently under consideration by the German government will significantly alter this situation.

Who is going to build California’s “train to nowhere”?
From a technical point of view, the likely bidders from France and Japan are far ahead of the competition. The French TGV (developed by Alstom and the state-owned SNCF) and the Japanese “bullet train” have a long track record of reliability. The Chinese CSR, on the other hand (which has hooked up with General Electric), is a relatively new player in the field, while the German high-speed train ICE has a long history of malfunctions and routinely drives German passengers to despair.
But both CSR and the German venture of Siemens and the state-owned railroad operator Deutsche Bahn (DB) are willing to sweeten up the deal: CSR’s offer includes financing; Siemens is luring law-makers with the promise to create 1,000 new jobs in Sacramento. So the race is still open, and other factors come into play.
In August, a bill was passed in California’s Senate and Assembly requiring companies vying for contracts to build California’s high-speed rail system to disclose their involvement in deportations to concentration camps during World War II. German President Christian Wulff recently visited Israel. The program was the usual one — including a visit to Yad Vashem, Israel’s official Holocaust Memorial — and the usual speeches were made: to the effect that one cannot change the past, but one wants together to secure a better future. Only in one respect were the proceedings somewhat different than usual. Wulff was not accompanied by his wife Bettina, but rather by his 17-year-old daughter from an earlier marriage, Annalena, and by a whole group of German teenagers. Wulff explained that he wanted to make clear that “history is passed down from generation to generation.”

Wikileaks: Merkel adviser asked US to pressure Netanyahu

Dr. Tilman Tarach, a German expert on Israel- German relations, told the Post on Thursday, “The position of the German government does not surprise me, as it has always been clandestinely anti-Israel. As for the settlements, some 20 percent of Israeli citizens are Arab. So why shouldn’t 20% of Jews live on the territory of a future Palestinian state? The criticism of the settlement policies assumes that a future Palestinian state has to be “judenrein.”
Tarach, an attorney and author of the book The Eternal Scapegoat: Holy War, ‘The Protocols of the Elders of Zion’ and the Dishonesty of the So- Called Left in the Middle East Conflict, added that “the Palestinian side in recent years had never made a cessation of settlement a condition of negotiations. Where the demands of Obama and the German government go beyond those of the Palestinians, they make it harder for the Palestinians to be prepared for negotiations. Israel has often shown that in the process of negotiations, settlements can be evacuated.”

Germany's angst about Islamists goes mainstream

MOENCHENGLADBACH, Germany -- The 200 robed and bearded men gathered at dusk on the market square, rolled out their prayer rugs and intoned Allah's praises as dismayed townspeople looked on.
It was Ramadan, the Muslim fasting month, and the group that calls itself "Invitation to Paradise" was mounting a defiant response to weeks of public protests against construction of a religious school to teach its austere, militant interpretation of Islam.
In Germany, where the racial crimes of the Nazis have bred extreme sensitivity toward the rights of minorities, such confrontations would until recently have been limited to the far-right margins. The weekly rallies in this city of 250,000 near the Dutch border these days look decidedly mainstream.
It's part of a trend seen across Europe: Spooked by what many see as a terrorism threat, ordinary people are becoming increasingly vocal in opposing radical Muslims. They are ditching traditions of tolerance and saying no to cultures that do not share their democratic values. Some lament the decline of multiculturalism - "Utterly failed," in the words of German Chancellor Angela Merkel - while others say Europe is defending its way of life against those who would destroy it.

This is from October, but note which side it is that the EU High Rep has harsh words for as part of her “mediation” efforts: Israel, not Palestinians.
And which side was it that Hillary Clinton was traveling to Serbia to cajole over the Palestinians’ counterparts in the Balkans? Serbia, of course, and not the perpetually misbehaving “Kosovars.” (During her trip she made sure that the only thing on the table between Belgrade and Pristina would be the ironing out the logistics of separate coexistence, and not the “separate” part of that question.)
This, of course, is all just in case any Israel hawks still need any convincing that they should be giving a damn about what happens with Kosovo.

We are all Turks now

Serbia is mesmerized with Turkish soap operas and the authorities in Ankara believe that this Ottoman subculture that is winning over in the Balkans can make Serbs into new Turkish Janissaries.
During the international basketball game between Serbia and Turkey some cheering fans in Serbia commented, after the loss, that after all “those Turkish players look like our basketball players”. If history is to be the guide, however, it is the other way around as nations in the Balkans and particularly Christian women, over the centuries, all got more from the Turks then just their husbands beheaded.
Today, viewers in Belgrade and Zagreb weep not over the fate of their ancestors at the hands of the Turkish Islamic masters but at the fate of Eyshan, Gamus, Sheherezade… females in the Turkish soap operas portraying those proven stereotypes about love, infidelity and hatred, of vague motherhood, all in the slave relationship to their master, but also with a new look of the Turkish society… women without the veil.

Blowback: Afghanistan and Bosnia

As the U.S. and NATO casualties rise from the war in Afghanistan, with 2010 being the deadliest year of the nine-year war for the U.S., the question needs to be asked of how we got involved in that interminable and unwinnable conflict? The Afghan war has been dubbed Barack Obama’s War but its origins go back much earlier. Is the U.S. military disaster in Afghanistan an instance of blowback?
What is the standard definition of “blowback”? The U.S. intervenes illegally in a volatile and unstable scenario and over time the consequences of that criminality come back to reek havoc on U.S. domestic and foreign policy. That definition is as good as any.
The U.S. overthrew Mohammad Mosaddegh in Iran in 1953 in a CIA-engineered “regime change”. He was democratically elected but he threatened to nationalize British Petroleum (BP) and potential U.S. oil firms in Iran. Twenty five years later, the inevitable result was the Iranian Revolution whose militants directly blamed the U.S. and who dub the U.S. “the Great Satan”.
Now, that is classic blowback, the textbook definition. We created that outcome. Yet U.S. policymakers ignore and suppress this obvious cause. Instead, they manufacture delusional explanations, fabrications, and rationalizations. These policy wonks argue that Iran is sui generis and that their animus at the U.S. is motivated by their hatred for our freedom and democracy.
The U.S. armed and created the mujahedeen Freedom Fighters in Afghanistan. The U.S. made them viable. Ossama bin Laden was one of those mujahedeen Charlie Wilson empowered. Twenty years later, these Islamic Freedom Fighters created by Ronald Reagan are flying planes into the Pentagon and World Trade Centers. The U.S. also helped these Arab-Afghan mujahedeen illegally enter Bosnia to fight for the Muslim Army there during the 1992-1995 civil war.

The Viennese Waltz: Austria Dances Around Issue of Nuclear Iran

Europe is willingly swallowing Iran's nuclear non-compliance. Austria, which joined the EU in 1995, is comfortably taking a big gulp too.
Vienna has become a hub of operations for the Iranian Quds force, an elite brigade within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Due to the fact that OPEC, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, is headquartered in Vienna, Austria has long been at the center of Iranian covert activities. Quds agents are believed to purchase dual-use equipment and technology, which can be used as components for Iran's nuclear weapons development program. Austrian agencies are said to be reluctant to cooperate with allied intelligence services.
The Iranian nuclear program and Iran's hidden nuclear agenda have not only brought about an imbalance in the Middle East and in the Gulf Region, but have also created a critical situation with regard to security throughout the world. The developments of the past years, and Iran's current nuclear policies, do not point toward a change of heart.
Recently, Tehran proved once again that it is in total control of its nuclear aspirations by repeatedly postponing talks with the P5+1 (the permanent members of the Security Council plus Germany). The West is apparently willing to submit to yet another round of Iran's special brand of diplomacy, which consists of indicating openness to renew negotiations, while at the same time asserting that there is nothing to talk about.
Austria is a small country, not necessarily among the key players when it comes to negotiating with the Iranians, but in recent times Vienna has gained relevance ever since Austria became a non-permanent member of the U.N. Security Council.

German ‘Conservatives’ Find Common Ground with Sharia-Compliant Economics

The superiority of Germany’s so-called “social market economy” is an article of faith for virtually all of Germany’s major political parties (with the possible exception of the “post-communist” Left Party, which would prefer an outright socialist one). The expression is commonly associated with Ludwig Erhard, post-War West Germany’s first economics minister under the Christian Democratic Chancellor Konrad Adenauer. In current usage, the expression strongly connotes a rejection of a “pure” market economy or “unbridled” capitalism, such as the advocates of the “social market” model presumed to exist in the United States and other “Anglo-Saxon” countries.
In a series of seminars held recently in Berlin, Ankara, and Abu Dhabi, Germany’s Konrad Adenauer Foundation examined the “commonalities” between the social market economy and “Islamic economics.” As reported in the German daily Die Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the participants:
came to the conclusion that [the commonalities] were great and that, for example, the recent financial crisis would not have broken out if today’s economic order had been oriented to the common values shared by both. The politicians present, including those from the [German] Bundestag, did not disagree.
The Konrad Adenauer Foundation is a publicly funded “political foundation” affiliated with the Christian Democratic Union, the party of German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Chancellor Merkel sits on the executive board of the foundation.
The report in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung is written by the paper’s Abu Dhabi-based correspondent Rainer Hermann. Alluding to Walter Eucken, one of the theoretical fathers of the “social market economy,” Hermann goes so far as to suggest that Islamic scholarship in the person of Ibn Khaldun anticipated the “social market” model by some six centuries. “Already in the 14th century, Ibn Khaldun had recognized the elements and institutions developed by the economists around Walter Eucken, even if he used a different vocabulary.”

Germans most critical of Islam

Germans are much more critical of Islam than other European countries. Sociologist Detlef Pollack of the University of Münster conducted a survey "Religion and Politics", and interviewed 1000 people in Germany, Denmark, France, the Netherlands and Portugal about their attitudes towards Islam.The study showed that 40% of West-Germans and 50% of East Germans feel threatened by foreign cultures. Less than 5% of the Germans say that Islam is tolerant, compared to more than 20% of the Danes, French and Dutch say that Islam is tolerant. Although those countries have violent conflicts with their Muslim minorities, a clear majority had a positive image of Muslims. In West-Germany, only 34% had a positive opinion of Muslims, and in East Germany, only 26%.Most Germans saw nothing positive about Islam, says Pollack. Fewer than 30% in West Germany and 20% in East Germany supported building mosques. There was even less agreement to building minarets or introducing Muslim holidays. In contrast, more than 50% supported building mosques in Denmark, around 66% supported mosques in France and the Netherlands, and in Portugal, almost 75% agreed.

Islamic apologists in the West routinely insist that Muslims aren't really supposed to beat their wives at all, or that if they are, they should only beat them lightly, and that Muhammad said to beat one's wife only with a toothbrush. They never mention, of course, how Muhammad's favorite wife, Aisha, recounted the time when Muhammad "struck me on the chest which caused me pain." And with Muhammad being the supreme example of conduct for Muslims (cf. Qur'an 33:21), that doesn't bode well for Muslim women.
