Germany: Part confession in the trial of stone-throwing at Jews

HANOVER(EIP-News) Before the juvenile court in Hanover on Tuesday began the trial of a 15-year-old who allegedly threw stones last summer on a Jewish dance group. He is accused of grievous bodily harm.
The defendant has filed a partial confession on the first Day of trial before the District Court, a court spokesman said.
A Jewish dance group trying to perform on the street in the city of Hanover had stones thrown at them by several Muslim immigrant youths, wherein one dancer was injured.
The attackers want to disturb the performance of the young dancers of the Chaverim (Friends in Hebrew) dance troupe by drawing stones and also shouting anti-Semitic slogans. Someone shouted Juden Raus “Jews out!” through a megaphone, witnesses reported. The Jewish dance group then ended the performance.
The defendant were not assumed “political, anti-Semitic or ethnic motives”, he probably only had “taking part in”, said a court spokesman. Meanwhile, the investigations against four alleged accomplices were exposed.
From this perspective, it is very probable that the accused will be acquitted.
Jewish leaders in Germany have been warning for a number of years that anti-Semitic feelings were widespread in German Muslim communities.
The process will continue late January with further testimonies.
