The Serb appeals to dignity, the German demands submission

Germany’s Chancellor is a far cry from Hitler’s stern talk and brutal action – she talks nicely.
While in Serbia, she told the Serbian president that he has to choose “Kosovo or the EU” and then she went off to Pristina to cuddle with the descendants of Hitler’s allies – the Kosovo Albanians.
“I believe that the ‘Kosovo or the EU’ policy is a wrong policy of ultimatums, which is not in keeping with the European values and thus should be avoided,” Serbian President Tadic said adding that he exhibits “willingness to cooperate with the EU in the search for a solution which would preserve the dignity of all peoples.”
… and who cares of Tadic’s “willingness” if he is not able to back it up with force let alone that Tadic seems unaware that it is Germany, and not him, that defines what is European.
As for dignity? Tadic ought draw nice pictures of blue skies and such.
The question is how will Tadic suck up the latest blunt demand by Germany and manage to turn the fait acompli into a political victory without looking like he is selling out Serbia and its sovereignty.
If he manages this, it is a forgone conclusion that some Euro-NGO could be formed rather quickly in order to give Tadic a plaque or some certificate that he is Europe’s democrat of the year, perhaps decade or century… whatever.
By the way, as an obligatory note, Merkel said that Serbia’s future is in the EU.
