Berlin street on LOCKDOWN after suspicious item found following truck attack

A BERLIN street is in lockdown after police discovered a suspicious item this evening. Just hours after a truck ploughed through a Christmas market in the city, killing nine, officers sealed off a different area due to a bomb threat. Berlin Police have Tweeted a request to avoid the area of the market, as well as another street. They said: “Please bypass #Breitscheidplatz spaciously. Our colleagues currently block Rankestr and check a suspicious item.”The street, Rankestrasse, runs directly to the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, and was closed just hours after a truck careered through a Christmas market held there. At least 50 people were injured in the incident, which officials believe is a terror attack.
