The Dems have made it their priority to fight Voter ID by any means necessary, even though a majority of their votes, of every race, support it, and it's basic common sense. The only sensible and plausible reason for the Democrat war on Voter ID is to promote and protect voter fraud.
Now that Trump and Pence have expressed a clear commitment to investigating the issue, the third rail has been firmly gripped. And what is inside may change everything.
Hillary Clinton garnered more than 800,000 votes from noncitizens on Nov. 8, an approximation far short of President Trump’s estimate of up to 5 million illegal voters but supportive of his charges of fraud. While 800K would not account for all of Hillary's popular vote win, it's important to remember that just making a state like California unwinnable for Republicans depresses their voter turnout. Illegal voting has a disproportionate impact beyond its numbers. If Republicans go in knowing that their votes are futile, they are less likely to vote. When this is achieved through illegal means, then the entire process by which Democrats win states is tainted.
Political scientist Jesse Richman of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, has worked with colleagues to produce groundbreaking research on noncitizen voting, and this week he posted a blog in response to Mr. Trump’s assertion.
Based on national polling by a consortium of universities, a report by Mr. Richman said 6.4 percent of the estimated 20 million adult noncitizens in the U.S. voted in November. He extrapolated that that percentage would have added 834,381 net votes for Mrs. Clinton, who received about 2.8 million more votes than Mr. Trump.
Mr. Richman calculated that Mrs. Clinton would have collected 81 percent of noncitizen votes.
