The Amsterdam Police today released a video of a violent incident that occurred during the night of Saturday 13 May to Sunday 14 May on the Zeedijk in Amsterdam’s city centre.
A 24-year-old woman from the Dutch city of Almere seemingly got into an argument with the suspect, who, following an aggravated dialogue picked up a nearby glass and smashed it in the victim’s face.
The police spokesman says:
“Due to the severity of the injuries, we will not show you images of the victim.”
The police report further states that:
“Once in hospital, a plastic surgeon is called in to stitch her face. At that moment there are still pieces of glass in her skin. The woman will have permanent injuries due to this severe assault.”
Starting today, the police is actively searching for witnesses since they have yet to identify and arrest the suspect.
