A previously unknown man attacked and robbed a woman yesterday morning (27 May). According to the victim, there is also suspicion of attempted rape. The police are urgently looking for witnesses. The 37-year-old from the city of Dortmund visited a police station yesterday afternoon with an acquaintance and filed a complaint. According to the report, a man at Leopold street in Dortmund attacked her around 7 a.m., threatened her with a pistol and brought her to the ground. There he tried to pull the woman's pants down. Although the woman managed to grab her cell phone, the suspect snatched it from her. Fortunately, the incident did not go unnoticed: a previously unknown man apparently witnessed the incident from an apartment on Leopold street and asked the perpetrator to let go of the woman. As a result, the suspect went away with the woman's cell phone in an unknown direction. The man is described as follows: African appearance ("black skin"), approx. 160 - 165 cm tall, approx. 20 - 30 years old, slender figure, black/short hair, dressed with dark orange trousers and a green jacket. The Dortmund police are now urgently looking for witnesses, especially the man who was probably able to prevent worse things by his intervention. The Criminal Investigation Department of the Dortmund Police is available around the clock at 0231 - 132 7441.
