The police were informed about a brawl during a Syrian wedding celebration in Gröpelingen near Bremen at about 10 pm. Among the approximately 300 to 400 wedding guests, disputes developed which got completely out of control after only a short time. When the police arrived at the wedding and wanted to settle the dispute, the officers were suddenly attacked by the guests. "There was an extremely aggressive prevailing mood, which led to repeated crimes," the police said. With the help of other officers from Lower Saxony and the Federal Police, the celebration was finally dissolved by the police. For eight men, the wedding ended with the arrest. Three officers and two wedding guests were injured in the incident. The investigation is still ongoing.
