Germany: Knifing among Turks, Syrians and Africans - one man seriously injured

An argument between young men escalated yesterday evening at about 10:30 pm in Jahn street in the town of Alsfeld. According to the results of the investigation so far, two German-Turkish brothers, 15 and 17 years old, and their 28-year-old Syrian uncle on the one side and a 23-year-old from Eritrea on the other. According to the current state of knowledge, the assault was caused by the damage to a bicycle belonging to the family of the above-mentioned group of three. In the course of the struggle, the Eritrean suffered a life-threatening incision in his abdomen. An ambulance took the seriously injured man to a hospital, where he had to undergo emergency surgery. At present, there is no longer any acute danger to life. Police officers found a knife with blood attachments in a bush near the crime scene and seized it as a suspected weapon. In addition, three of the suspects allegedly involved in the crime, the two German-Turks mentioned above and the Syrian, were arrested on the spot. The 17-year-old, to whom the life-threatening stab is accused, will be brought before the judge of the district court of Giessen during the course of the day with the aim of obtaining remand in custody on the urgent suspicion of attempted manslaughter and dangerous bodily injury.
