Translation of an eyewitness report:
Last night, a friend came to me from the late shift of a hospital...There were dozens of police and ambulances at Oberhausen main station...It was before 10 pm...My friend got into a taxi there to go home. She asked the taxi driver what was going on... He said a foreigner stabbed a German....!!! In some Oberhausen Facebook groups, you can also read about the incident...Since I work at Oberhausen main station, I now have the latest information. ..A German citizen was in a kebab shop....An Afghan entered the snack bar. ..He may have heard, that the German had said the word Koran...After that the Afghan took the knife, called Allahu Akbar and stabbed the man several times...I don't know how the man is doing...The Afghan has been arrested by the police! !!!
According to witnesses, there had previously been disputes between the 19-year-old suspect Afghans and the 27-year-old German. The 19-year-old is said to have repeatedly played Islamic calls to prayer at high volume from his smartphone. The 27-year-old asked him to refrain from doing so. Then the suspect is said to have suddenly stabbed the 27-year-old man.
After an attempted murder at Willy-Brandt-Platz square in the city of Oberhausen yesterday evening, the alleged perpetrator was arrested shortly afterwards. Meanwhile, the 27-year-old's condition is stable. The alleged perpetrator, a 19-year-old Afghan, was arrested by police officers from Oberhausen near the scene.
