Germany: Mysterious death at the asylum seekers' shelter - What are the authorities covering up?

It is June 12, 2016, the European Championship match between Germany and Ukraine is on TV. The police call Karl Heinz Hulin (60 y/o) and his wife Claudia Kellenberger. "They told me to let my wife sleep peacefully," recalls the railway employee. Then it won't be a bad thing, he thinks. It's something bad..." We have found a woman's body," say the police. "80% probability it's your daughter, but we need another DNA match..." Officials are talking about an accident or a homicide - a nightmare begins! Isabelle Kellenberger is 28 years old and at peace with herself and her life: The enthusiastic swimmer has a job in the lido in Nussdorf on Lake Bodensee, has been with her great love Michael (32 y/o, name changed) from Munich for half a year, has a loving contact to her parents and her younger sister Franziska (24 y/o, name changed). Her parents recently bought her a condo in Überlingen. She wants to rent it out now, because a move to Michael is imminent. Then Isabelle disappears - and nobody seems to have seen her. On Thursday, the 2nd of June, she has an afternoon appointment with friends. At eight o'clock she goes home. At night she still talks on the phone with her boyfriend. It's about moving, finding a job - there's so much to talk about. Sometime in the night between three and four there is the last contact to Michael. After that, nothing more! Two days later he reports to his parents - Isabelle's phone has been off since Friday, WhatsApp messages no longer work."We haven't thought about it at first," recalls Karl Heinz Hulin. "It was bad weather, they didn't need them in the open air pool." And Isabelle used to go to friends in Switzerland... Nevertheless, they look in the daughter's apartment - the blinds are closed. "We weren't worried at first, thought Isabelle didn't have a cell phone network where she was." Only on Saturday the parents - together with their daughter Franziska - examine the apartment more closely. And note: Isabelle's backpack is there, as are her cosmetics. Washing machine and dishwasher were apparently in use, the balcony door in the ground floor apartment is in an open position. Isabelle would never have done that, everything speaks against a spontaneous journey. Now the family is seriously worried, goes to the police and files a missing persons report. "The officials were very friendly and took a lot of time," father Karl Heinz wonders. What they don't say: They found an unidentified woman's body in Lake Bodensee the day before... He only finds out on Sunday evening when the police ring his bell during the international match. The investigation begins one day later. But they are soon over again. Although the autopsy report speaks of an "unexplained death", the matter is quickly resolved for the Commissioner from Friedrichshafen: suicide!Karl Heinz Hulin and his wife can't believe it.Karl Heinz Hulin and his wife cannot understand the world any more. Isabelle was a lifeguard and German breaststroke champion - and someone like that is said to have drowned himself in the 30 centimetres shallow shore water of Lake Bodensee? Only dressed in underwear, other clothes as well as mobile phone, ID and keys are - and still are - untraceable. The site is six kilometers from her apartment, but Isabelle didn't have a car.Karl Heinz Hulin and his wife cannot understand the world any more. Isabelle was a lifeguard and German breaststroke champion - and someone like that is said to have drowned himself in the 30 centimetres shallow shore water of Lake Constance? Only dressed in underwear, other clothes as well as mobile phone, ID and keys are - and still are - untraceable. The site is six kilometers from her apartment, but Isabelle didn't have a car. And as if that weren't enough contradictions, the stunned parents are presented with an absurd motive for the supposed suicide: Isabella had an unclear professional situation and an unhappy relationship. She was also a zodiac sign Libra - and according to the investigating authorities, they are apparently more prone to suicide."The Commissioner actually told me so," explains Karl-Heinz Hulin. The couple call in a lawyer who requests access to the files. And he finds out: Isabelle had injuries to her face, a nasal bone fracture, bleeding in her forehead and temple, and bleeding into her throat - but NO water in her lungs. Smears have been taken to investigate a possible sexual offence. But these were not evaluated - because it was "suicide"... And of course the media were not informed and asked for help in the search for witnesses. Suicide in the lake without water in the lungs? The investigation authorities still owe their parents the answer to this elementary question."We have lost the ground under our feet," recalls the father. "We hope it gets better. But today, after two years, I realize, "It's getting worse!" Above all, the fact that there is no information, that the authorities refuse any support, is a problem for Hulin and his wife. "But we will not rest until we know what really happened to Isabelle!""We have lost the ground under our feet," recalls the father. "We hope it gets better. "But we will not rest until we know what really happened to Isabelle!" At that time, there was a home for asylum seekers near the site of the discovery. Isabelle also had contact with the young men, met them in the pub, where she enjoyed a beer after work. "An African guy stalked her," recalls Karl Heinz Hulin. " Her boss had to drive him away."
