Austria: Asylum seeker suspected of murder

An asylum seeker arrested for a chisel throw at children in the town of Maria Enzersdorf (Mödling district) is said to have killed another asylum seeker. This was announced by the Provincial Police Headquarters of Lower Austria on Friday evening. According to a DNA analysis, the 25-year-old, who is not confessing, had blood on his shoe from the victim killed on Thursday night, who, according to the autopsy, was killed "by massive blunt and compressed violence". The steel chisel that the asylum seeker threw at children on Thursday afternoon could therefore be used as a weapon. After that, he also beat up cops who wanted to search him. Two officers were injured. The police found a "blood-like attachment" on the man's right shoe, whereupon the DNA analysis was carried out, and the asylum seeker is also suspected of having injured two asylum seekers with punches in an asylum shelter in Maria Enzersdorf on Tuesday. As a result, a ban on trespassing was issued against him.
