While Germany spends 93 billion on asylum seekers, its pensioners are increasingly poor
The German taxpayer is paying billions for the 1.5 million asylum seekers that arrived into the country. In 2016 already 93 billion euros were reserved for the years to come.
In the meantime Germany’s pensioners are becoming increasingly poor. Reliable sources say 15% of the country’s pensioners are living at poverty level and the numbers are rapidly increasing.
Below is a story of an elderly pensioner who worked all her life to build up a pension, but now faces poverty every day. At the end she cries because she can’t afford a special wheelchair that could give her more mobility.
