Germany: 19-year-olds kidnapped by presumably asylum seekers who demanded a ransom

On Thursday evening there was a major police operation in the town of Taunusstein-Bleidenstadt. A 52-year-old woman appeared at the police station in Bad Schwalbach on Thursday afternoon and stated that her 19-year-old son had been picked up by several men outside their home in Aarbergen-Michelbach the evening before and that they then drove away together with a car. On the same evening and also on Thursday there were calls demanding several hundred euros so that the son could return home. After the facts of the case became known, extensive police investigations and measures were initiated to locate the son, in which special police forces were also deployed. The 19-year-old could then be found unharmed on a late Thursday evening in Taunusstein-Bleidenstadt in the area of Theodor-Heuss Street in front of an shelter for asylum seekers. Since it could not be ruled out that the 19-year-old stayed at least temporarily in the accommodation during his absence, measures were also carried out there. Several arrests were made during the operation. Four people aged 19, 20, 21 and 26 y /o were arrested.
