Majority in the German town of Kaufbeuren says no to the construction of a mosque -- Nearly 60% of voters voted against it on Sunday
In the town of Kaufbeuren there will be no new mosque on an urban property in an industrial area. Nearly 60 percent of the 15 128 voters voted in a referendum on Sunday for the city to immediately stop negotiations with the local Turkish-Islamic Cultural Association Ditib about the property. Thus the initiators of the citizens' decision are successful, which want to prevent the project with substantial assistance of the party Alternative for Germany (AfD). The association must now look for another property.
