Germany: Asylum seeker arrested in Pforzheim after attempted homicide

Late on Monday evening, a 23-year-old mother was so severely injured by several knife wounds in the Pforzheim city garden that she had to be admitted to a clinic with life-threatening injuries. The young woman is now out of danger and could be questioned by the investigators on Tuesday in the presence of an interpreter. She confirmed the already extensive investigations of the detectives according to which the Eritrean asylum seeker was allegedly attacked with a knife by her child's father, who was separated from her. According to this, the urgent suspicion is directed against the 27-year-old Eritrean, who lives in Stuttgart. The wanted man could be arrested in the night to Wednesday by the Stuttgart police in an asylum shelter there. The 27-year-old has not yet commented on the matter. Investigations, especially into the motive for the crime, are ongoing, although this may be related to the relationship. At the request of the public prosecutor's office in Pforzheim, an arrest warrant was issued by the competent judge against the suspect. He will be brought before the magistrate on Wednesday.
