Germany: Mass brawl of approx. 200 people at an oriental wedding celebration - police with large contingent in action

Today, at about 00.30 am, the police control centre in the Rhine-County Neuss received several emergency calls, which reported a brawl with 200 persons at a wedding celebration in the Royal Palace in Korschenbroich. The Royal Palace is an event centre that is used almost exclusively by Turks and Arabs. Further emergency reports were received that knives and baseball bats had been used and several children and persons had been injured. Several firings were also reported. Immediately strong forces were sent to the scene, reinforcements from the surrounding authorities were requested and a police helicopter was deployed.During the police operation it turned out that eight people, including one child, were slightly injured. The use of firearms or thrusting weapons was fortunately not confirmed. There was considerable damage to property. According to initial investigations, a group of six people from a family of the wedding couple seem to have started the argument.
