TEN people have been hospitalised with “minor to major” injuries after shots were fired in Manchester this morning.Greater Manchester Police said on Sunday morning shots were fired in the Moss Side area of the city earlier in the day. Greater Manchester Police said on Sunday morning police were called to Claremont Road to reports of shots being fired at around 2:30am. Armed and unarmed officers were sent to the scene. Detective Superintendent Debbie Dooley said: “Officers are trying to establish exactly where this incident took place and who is responsible for such a dangerous attack.” CCTV is being examined to try and determine the details of the incident. Footage appearing to show the aftermath of the shooting was posted on social media. The video appears to show a panicked group of people being helped by police. As a voice cries out, shouts of "move" can be heard, while another voice asks "can you hear me". Police remain in the area while investigations are ongoing. They have asked anybody with any information to contact them. “Anyone with any information should call police on 0161 856 4166 quoting incident number 297 of 12 August or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.” Moss Side is in the south of Manchester, around two miles from the city centre.
