On Monday, a 37-year-old man was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Frankfurt Regional Court for allegedly suffocating his highly pregnant wife in bed. The 30-year-old victim was " distrustless and defenceless " at the time of the crime in September last year, therefore the jury chamber assumed an insidious killing. On Monday, 19th of September 2017, the young mother Palwasha L., who was already pregnant in her fourth month, died in front of her two children in the refugee home in Volta street. The suspect was her husband Munir L. The special task force arrested him three days later and he was charged. He is accused of abortion and treacherous murder. In the morning, according to Judge Volker Kaiser-Klan, there was an argument about who should heat the milk for the one-year-old son. Palwasha had threatened her husband that she would kill the unborn child and herself. Munir L. would have thrown her onto the bed and fed his son.She wouldn't have reacted after that. Munir called a neighbour, who then called the rescue service. After several months of taking evidence of the crime, the judges considered the accused Afghan to have been convicted. The verdict stated that there was no evidence of the woman's natural death, suicide or other perpetrators. During the verdict, the defendant cried loudly and vehemently denied the crime.
