Germany: Afghan asylum seeker enters hospital and stabs pregnant patient -- she suffers life-threatening injuries, her unborn child dies

Yesterday, around 6 p.m., in a hospital in Bad Kreuznach, there was an assault between a patient and a visitor. The patient was a 25-year-old Polish citizen. During the visit, the 25-year-old Afghan asylum seeker stabbed the pregnant woman several times. The pregnant woman suffered life-threatening injuries and subsequently had to undergo emergency surgery. Her condition is currently stable. The unborn child was also injured and died a short time later. The offender first fled the hospital and then stood up at the federal police station in Bad Kreuznach. There he was arrested and handed over to the Bad Kreuznach police. The public prosecutor's office in Bad Kreuznach, in cooperation with the Mainz criminal police, started the investigation. The background to the crime is not yet known. After the 25-year-old has been presented to a magistrate, he orders him to be remanded in custody at noon today on charges of attempted murder and in a unit of crime with a completed abortion and dangerous bodily injury.
