Last Wednesday evening, a 20-year-old female train passenger was seriously injured by fisticuffs to her face. A 23-year-old suspect was arrested. He is now in custody. The incident took place in a NordWest railway line on the way from Bremen to Münster.According to previous findings of the Federal Police, the 23-year-old is said to have already behaved abnormally towards female passengers during the train journey. Witnesses reported that the man deliberately molested, harassed and insulted only women with white skin.Shortly after the train stopped at Osnabrück-Altstadt station, the 23-year-old German citizen with a migration background approached the 20-year-old victim in a targeted manner and abruptly punched her in the face at least twice with his fist. He also spat at the victim and insulted her with the words "I hate all German women". On arrival at Osnabrück main station at about 7:45 pm, the 23-year-old left the train. A courageous witness pursued the perpetrator until he was arrested in the main station by officers of the Federal Police.The young woman was seriously injured in the face by the sudden attack and had to be taken to a clinic by ambulance for medical care. A breath alcohol test carried out on the 23-year-old man was negative. A blood sample was ordered to determine the use of drugs or other stimulants. The result is still pending.In order to clarify the exact course of the crime, the Federal Police ordered the evaluation of the video recording from the train. The 23-year-old, who is known to the police, was brought before a magistrate this afternoon at the request of the Osnabrück public prosecutor's office and is now in custody.
