A patrol of the federal police had to intervene yesterday in Erfurt because a man became violent. The patrol was on its way to the station when a 24-year-old Afghan struck, screaming loudly in the area of the station underpass. As a result, there was a battle of words with a 32-year-old German, whom the Afghan then punched in the face. The officers succeeded in stopping the skirmish and arresting the attacker. The man also continued to behave aggressively in police custody.The Federal Police are investigating this person on suspicion of bodily harm. After all police measures had been completed, he was allowed to leave the police station again. The 32-year-old injured man suffered a blow to his nose and had to be taken to the Catholic hospital by the rescue service for treatment.
