Germany: Sexual Harassment by an Algerian

A 21-year-old woman reported to the police station in Mönchengladbach last Friday evening at 10.40 p.m. and stated that she had been harassed by a man at the bus station. Federal police took the Algerian citizen into custody for the time being. The young woman reported that she was unexpectedly embraced by a man unknown to her. In addition, he had tried to kiss her several times. Despite a clear announcement from herself, the 22-year-old did not let go of her. A patrol of the federal police arrested the drunken man at the bus station in Mönchengladbach. He was very aggressive and uncooperative towards the officers. The personal data of the man could not be determined on the spot. He refused to provide any information and was therefore taken to the police station. After a search, the determination of his identity and the opening of a preliminary investigation, he was dismissed from the guard with a reprimand. The police officers watched as the man approached the 21-year-old again. The Federal Police took the man into custody for the time being and handed him over to his asylum seeker's shelter. He is now under investigation for sexual harassment.
